=================================================================================Running Network's Mr. Ubiquitous - GRAND CANYON, LAS VEGAS, PHOENIX (Feb 27- Mar 14) =================================================================================Mr. Ubiquitous, aka Gary Morgan, reports:

Part IIt's been an adventure out here in the beautiful Desert Southwest for the last two weeks. On my way to

Las Vegas I drove through the a couple of National Monument parks. They were the Sunset CraterNational monument and the Wupatki National Monument. It was cool to see all the black volcanicrock mixed in with the snow at the crater and the Native American Indian ruins at Wupatki Monument.

Then on to the one of the seven natural wonders of the world. The Grand Canyon, as they say aboutthis canyon, it's not the deepest, or the widest, or the longest, but it is the largest and thats why it'scalled the Grand Canyon. 277 miles long, 18 miles wide and 1 mile deep, it covers a lot of the ground.John Wesley Powell was the first American to truly explorer and investigate this incredible place back inthe 1880's. I drove in the east entrance on the south rim and stopped at the watch tower at desert view.

Which is a observation point built in 1932 as a recreation of towers found in the prehistoric times in thedesert southwest. It provided some fantastic views of the canyon. Then on to the Visitor center area andsome great viewing points looking over the canyon. Got some great photos of the sunset. Went over tothe Village and stopped at the El Tovar hotel that was opened over 100 years ago. Six Presidents havestayed here since TheodoreRoosevelt was the first; he authorized the Grand Canyon to become a National monument in 1908. In1919 it became a National Park . There was a list on the wall of all the presidents who have stayedthere. It's a beautiful building just a couple hundred feet from the rim of the canyon. That was my quickstop at the canyon as I headed out in the dark for Las Vegas 275 miles away.

I arrive into the town that truly never sleeps and the entertainment capital of the World at about 2AM. I'm staying at the Stratosphere which is that huge tower you can see from 20 miles away. I getthere and call it a night as it was a ong day. Next day I head over to the Bikram yoga studio I went to inDecember. I walked in and the instructor remembered me. Where ever I travel, I try to find a Bikramyoga studio so I can stretch out from sitting and running. I's nice to find other people who want to livea healthy life style when you travel.

Part II next week.
