MICHAEL JOHNSON is a black queer with HIV who at 23 was sentenced to over 30 years in Missouri prison in 2015 thanks to a state law that criminalizes people with HIV/AIDS. He recently took a plea and will hopefully be returned to family in Indiana in 2018.

GAY SHAME SF has been in constant communication with Michael since his sentencing in 2015 and is now raising money that will go directly to him upon his release.

On MARCH 3, the radical queer dance party SHIPS IN THE NIGHT will be donating a portion of the door to Michael’s reentry fund. Bring your bill$ to The New Parish, 579 18th St in Oakland, from 9 PM to 2 AM, $7 (21+).

freemichaeljohnson.org has more information about how to support and write to Michael.
