Taught age appropriate skills and basic team play. ALL players receive their own soccer ball. Coaches Receive training, mentorship and support. Under 9 – Learning to Train

(The Golden Age of Learning)

• 3:1 practice to game ratio(Teams will practice for threenights and play a game on thefourth night)

• 6 vs 6 game play will be used otheir game night.

• The small sided gameenvironment (2v2 or 4v4) isdevelopmentally appropriate forplayers at this age

• Small sided games ensureplayers are more involved in the game including transition from defending to creating attacking opportunities

• Players will be exposed to theball as much as possibledeveloping techniques forturning, changing direction, and1v1 attacking and defending

• Teams consist of maximum of 14players

• All players are played equally inall positions during the season,including goalkeeper

• Volunteer coaches

• Winning is de-emphasized. Nostandings will be kept at this age group as per CSA LTPDguidelines.

Under 13 – Training to Train

(Identifying the Elite Player)

• 1:1 practice to game ratio(Teams will practice on onenights and play a game on theother night)

• 6 vs 6 game play will be used otheir game night

• Lots of small sided games (3v3 or4v4) to promote movement offthe ball and principles of play

• Players will be introduced toadvanced team systems andstrategies

• Using their acquired skills, theywill learn to adapt and improvetheir decision making

• Volunteer coaches

Under 15+ – Training to Compete

(Developing the International Player)

• Teams will play 6 vs 6

• Teams play 2 games per week

• Teams consist of maximum 14

• Volunteer coaches

• Standings and medals are part ofthe league in line with CSA LTPDguidelines.

Under 11 – Training to Train

(Identifying the Elite Player)

• 2:1 practice to game ratio(Teams will practice for twonights and play a game on thethird night)

• 6 vs 6 game play will be used otheir game night

• Lots of small sided games (3v3or 4v4) to promote movementoff the ball and principles of play

• Players will develop consistencyin base skills like passing,dribbling, shooting, and ballcontrol/master

• Using their acquired skills, theywill learn to adapt and improvetheir decision making

• Teams consist of maximum of 14players

• All players are played equally inall positions during the season,including goalkeeper

• Volunteer coaches

• Winning is de-emphasized. Nostandings will be kept at this agegroup as per CSA LTPDguidelines.
