Sir/Madam,
With reference to the application for 2016 Commonwealth Scholarship in the United Kingdom,the candidates are requested to appear for the interview on the specified date before the SelectionCommittee at the following venue.
Venue: - Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Higher Education, ScholarshipDivision, West Block-I, 2"d Floor, Wing 6, R. K. Puram, Sector-I, NewDellti llO()66.(Note: The venue is located opposite ofSewa Bhawan gate no. 2 or near Air Force Headquarter,R. K. Puram)
2. The candidates are required to bring along the original certificates, degrees/diplomas, proof ofage (Matriculation/Higher Secondary Certificate), experience certificate(s) and research or other paperthat has been published in support of the education/research qualifications as mentioned in theapplication.
3. A PHD applicant, must bring the below mentioned documents failing which they would not beallowed to attend the interview and would not be paid any travell ing allowance:
A brief/synopsis of about 500-2000 words about your proposed research programme.II Offer letter from the university as specified by the Commonwealth Scholarship
Commission for seeking admission for 2016.III Supporting statement completed by a potential Supervisor in the UK.
4. If employed, the candidate is required to bring the 'No Objection Certificate' to the effect thathe/she will be rei ieved by his/her employer in the event of his/her selection.
5. The candidates who have been awarded grades from their university/ institute, are required tobring the conversion formula and the marks in the percentage form, duly certified by the concerneduniversity/ institute.
6. TA form will be supplied in the Ministry.
7. The candidates are required to submit the application on the Electronic Application System(EAS) of the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission website https:llcsc.do-it-online.org.uk/csc/ElectronicApplicationSystem.htm . On the EAS the candidates are required toupload a scanned passport-size photograph, scanned transcript, a scanned birth certificate and a scannedcopy of offer letter received from a UK university/institution the names of which are specified by the
/
Commonwealth Scholarship Commission. You are requested to bring a copy of the filled EASapplication at the time of interview.
8. The following supporting documents duly tagged should be attached with the EAS application asper the sequence mentioned below:-
i) Plan of study, which should state clearly the aims and intentions of the study,though this may later be modified in the light of the negotiation with the scholar'ssupervisor.
ii) Photocopy of the reference from three referees (note: - considerable delay iscaused when reference from only one or two referees have been submitted with anapplication).
iii) Self-attested copies of mark-sheets, degree certificates and age proof anduniversity or college records in descending chronological order.
iv) Photocopy ofN.O.C. from employer (if employed).
v) Statement of conversion of Grades into exact percentage, duly certified by theUniversity! Jnstitute concerned along with conversion formula (in case degreeobtained from a University! Institutcs where grades are awarded).
Note: Photograph must be firmly pasted at the appropriate place on the application form
9. If the candidates fail to bring the requisite documents as required in paras 2, 3, 4, 5 and 8above, whichever is applicable, he!she will not be eligible for interview and claiming the TravellingAllowance.
10. Candidates should have adequate knowledge about India and the donor country. The candidate'spersonality, general awareness and knowledge of Indian History besides subject knowledge, will counttowards his!her evaluation for final selection.
11. Candidates coming from outside Delhi!New Delhi will be paid the cost of the Second ClassSleeper (Non AC) rail fare by Mail/Express train, lower class bus fare (where rail facilities are notavailable, from the place given in your mailing address or actual travel, whichever is short, in India toDelhi and ·back). Fare will be admissible by the shortest route, and where return tickets are availableonly the cost of such return tickets will be paid. As interview may continue till late evening, please getyour return journey ticket arranged according]y.
12. It must be clearly understood that the date and time of the interview will not be altered under anycircumstances. You are, therefore, advised to take all precautions to arrive on time.
13. If the degree and other certificates are in Hindi, English version of those certificates are also tobe enclosed. failing which those certificates in Hindi will not be considered by the donor country.
