Case Study 2: Horseshoe Road
Superfund Site MHF transported 181,600 tons of Subtitle D
non-hazardous, TSCA, TSCA/RCRA, and RCRA (thermal) wastes from the Horseshoe Road Superfund Site in Sayreville, NJ to four separate facilities via our private gondola railcars equipped with liners. MHF coordinated the rail logistics of an average of 900 tons of material per day from the origin to disposal outlets.
MHF provided an on-site Transportation and Disposal Coordinator to review waste manifests and waybills; coordinate with Class I railroad to ensure daily switching of railcars; oversee installation of railcar liners; attend daily site briefings; and provide client support.

Transloading Facilities MHF designed, constructed, and operates copper concentrate and
propane transloading facilities for Newmont Mining Corporation. MHF provides the rail logistics and railcar tracking for the concentrate shipments.
The concentrate transloading facility is believed to be the first of its kind and accommodates the loading of two 52-foot, 109-ton gondola cars simultaneously.
