This is messy Martin

Who’s feeling rather sad.

He’s got a little problem

And it makes him oh so mad!

It’s such a sad, sad story,

A problem since a child.

He can’t help spilling food,

And it drives him really wild!

When he was a baby,

No one seemed to care,

When all his tea and dinner

Got matted in his hair.

But now he is much older,

It has become a pain,

To finish eating dinner,

Then spot that dreaded stain.

He’s always missed out food

Which makes a mess, of course,

Beetroot, blancmange, spaghetti,

Beans, eggs and tomato sauce.

He knows that if it splashes,

Or worse still it might squirt,

Despite all concentration,

It ends up down his shirt!

Choosing clothes each morning

Has become a real nightmare,

As every bit of clothing

Has a horrid mark somewhere!

Now his Mum won’t wash them,

She says she’s had enough.

She’s given up on washing,

It’s just become too tough!
