With that, He bowed His head and gave up His Spirit.” - John 19:30 The word "finished" is the same as "paid in full ". Jesus came to finish God’s work of salvation, to pay the full penalty for our sins . With His death, the complex sacrificial system ended because Jesus took all sin upon himself . Now we can freely approach God because of what Jesus did for us. Those who believe in Jesus’ death and resurrection can live eternally with God and escape the penalty that comes from sin. Thursday 18 April: The Divine Liturgy was celebrated by His Eminence Archbishop Haigazoun Najarian in the morning in commemoration of the Last Supper which instituted the sacrament of Holy Communion. The Washing of the Feet service was held in the evening teaching us humility which Jesus demonstrated. Saturday 20 April: Following Friday’s Crucifixion and Burial services, the Easter Eve Jrakalouyts Divine Liturgy saw the introduction of te Easter greeting: Christ is Risen. Blessed is the Resurrection of Christ. Sunday 21 April: The Feast of the Glorious Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ is the pinnacle of our Christian faith when Christ, the True Light defeated darkness and conquered death.
