About Meru Waste Management facility Meru Waste Disposal Facility General Waste Bin Collection Please observe these requirements to assist with your waste collection: • Bins must be placed on verge prior to 6.00am on collection day • Leave a half metre gap between bins or obstacles • Do not place rubbish beside or on top of the bin, • Do not overload the bin (maximum 70kg) • No paint, chemicals, liquids, car batteries or motor oil • Remove the bin from the nature strip as soon as possible after collection • The bins are for domestic waste only such as food scraps and non recyclable items • Do not put bricks, heavy timber or steel in the bin – these materials can damage the collection equipment and your bins. Chemicals, Paints, Pesticides and other hazardous wastes around your home
Don’t dispose of hazardous substances into your green mobile garbage bin. Keep harmful metals and chemicals out of landfill.
Residents can now dispose of their unwanted paint, pesticides and other household chemicals safely into the designated Household Hazardous Waste shed at the Meru Waste Disposal Facility, Landfill Lane, off Goulds Road, Meru.
All items FROM HOUSEHOLDS ONLY will be recycled where possible.
Battery RecyclingResidents can now recycle their household batteries including:
• AA & AAA cells (single use & rechargeable batteries)
• C & D sized batteries• Button batteries
(cameras & watches)• 9V batteries• 6V batteries (torch
