experience to learners. However pertinent questions linger on why study the course and what career options are available?

Why study Tax Administration?

Tax is a constant. in every business environment. Undertaking Tax Administration imparts a you with knowledge and skills that are not prone to inapplicability.

Tax administration is not a modern day practise as historical evidence is present through centuries and across several civilizations i.e. Sumerians (Source: Rivista di storia economica, 2015, issue 1, 25-56).

It is a salient feature of government business aided by a constitutionally mandated government agency i.e The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).

Initially Tax Administration training by KESRA was an internal initiative for

capacity building of the Authority’s staff. However, in 2016 a shift in business focus opened KESRA’s doors to the public. The move allowed the public to enrol for the course as an academic program offered at Certificate, Diploma and Post-graduate level. Since then over 200 learners have successfully graduated.

The course is facilitated by a pool of expert trainers who guarantee quality, efficient delivery and practical

FOCUS OF THE MONTH : e-CAMPUS

Electronic Learning (e-Learning) is often viewed from the lens of modernization beside a backdrop of continued information technology advancement. However,

e-Learning is not a modern concept rather an old time practice that has transmuted.

The historical progression of e-learning can be traced from 1924 to the 1990’s. The 90’s mark a new dawn as a variety of tools are made available, delivery methods increased and virtualization becomes a reality. It is during this time that personal computers became easily accessible. (Source edtechtimes - Christopher Pappas).

As learning dynamics revolutionalize, many learning institutions have embraced the concept of e-learning. The Kenya School of Revenue Administration has not held back matching its business/service delivery model with trends, thus leveraging operations on technology.

In January 2019 the School opened its doors to e-learning in response to increasing learner requests. The method of delivery adopted by the School is Learning Management System; a software that enables administration, documentation, tracking, reporting and delivery. It is a learning experience backed up by a rich e-library and interactive approach to learning, providing a classroom experience through videos, discussion forums etc. Further, blended learning within a controlled environment augments the experience.

Enrol now and leverage on information technology to significantly save on cost, while studying at your comfort amongst other benefits.
