    NOTICE of Election Father Nicodemus is nominating Naomi Lowery to be re-appointed as the Treasurer for the St. Rose of Lima Board of Directors. Per corporate bylaws, elections need to be held by written ballots at a meeting open to all registered members of the Parish or at regularly scheduled Sunday masses designated for the election. The Pastor is to give notice of the election by announcement at all Sunday masses four weeks in a row prior to the election. Notice is to be shared the weekends: Dec.14th & 15th, Dec. 21 & 22nd, Dec. 28th & 29th, Jan. 4th & 5th. The election ballots will be available for the weekend masses of January 11th & 12th. CANDIDATES REQUIREMENTS: Candidates for election must be lay persons who are:

    • Catholic • Registered, practicing parish members • At least 25 years old.

    WHO CAN NOMINATE A CANDIDATE? Other nominations may be made in writing by at least 10 registered parishioners in full communion with the Roman Catholic Church. All nominations are to be made at least 2 weeks before the election and announced at Sunday Masses two weeks prior to the election. If only one person has been nominated by then, the nominee shall be declared elected.

    St Rose of Lima Parish office will be closed on Tuesday, Dec. 24 & Wednesday, Dec 25th, 2019. In observance for Christmas.

    Need everyone's information for Christmas week. To be in by Monday, 23, 2019, so I can have in enough time to have it approved and printed by Thursday.

    The Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court #2398 would like to thank everyone that supported us during the Festival of Trees either by donating items, baking and donating baked goodies, volunteering your time to work the selling stuffed animals, jewelry and kitchen and your prayers. Also our cooks Robert Herrera, Pauline Stidum and Al Romero that were there every day in the kitchen at 6 am to make the chili for the delicious burros and the people that supported us by buying raffle tickets, burros, stuffed animals and jewelry. Special thanks to Valley Furniture, Pauline Stidum, El Charro, VN Nails, Kachina Mineral Springs, Shelly Vaughan, and Yolie Herrera for donating the raffle items. Shout out goes to Valerie Enriquez and Brianna Jurado doing such a good job in decorating the hall.

  • FOURTH SUNDAY OF ADVENT

    DECEMBER 22, 2019

    Second Collections: 12-21-22/19– St. Vincent de Paul Eucharistic Adoration and Benediction Beginning November 8th, 2019. Weekly Masses will be Monday thru Thursday in the Chapel. Friday Weekly Mass will be at Our Lady of Guadalupe. There will be no adoration on Fridays. Adoration Monday-Thursday 8:30am-6pm. Compliance Representative will be at St. Rose of Lima from 1:30pm to 2:30 pm 2nd Thursday of the month. Spanish Choir Practice meets every Tuesday at 6:00 pm in the church. Youth Choir: Junior and High School meet at 5:30 to 6:30 pm on Wednesday.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    Baptisms: The parents of the child to be baptized must submit a copy of the baby's birth certificate. Parents and godparents need to attend the parish baptismal class. Classes are given on the second Saturday of the month from 10:00 a.m. until noon. Parents and Godparents must make an appointment to speak with Father prior to setting baptism date. Please call the office to sign up for the next scheduled class. All requirements for the Diocese of Tucson and Saint Rose of Lima will be given to the parents at this time. Baptisms are performed the first and third Saturdays at 10:00 a.m. Our office staff is limited, therefore, sponsors and godparents proof of sacraments, documents and payment must be submitted at least one month before the baptism. When choosing godparents, if they are married, they must be married through the Catholic church, if single you must not be living with a partner. Donation is $20.00. Quinceañera: The candidate and her parents must contact the office at least one (1) year or more before the date requested. Quinceañera are not performed during Holy Days. Requirements: Must have Baptism, First Holy Communion and be coming to Confirmation I. active within the parish, youth group, Religious Education, Mass attendance, etc. and Six(6) sets of meetings and volunteer ministries given by Fr. Nicodemus. Cost is $250.00. There is a non-refundable deposit of $100.00 to hold the date. Balance to the church must be received in the office one week before the ceremony. Weddings: The couple must contact office at least 6 months prior to the desired wedding date. An appointment will be made for the couple. At that time it will be determined if the date desired is available, and all requirements for the Diocese of Tucson and Saint Rose of Lima will be given to the couple. Donation is $150.00.There is a non-refundable deposit of $50.00 to hold the date. Balance to the church must be received in the office one week before the ceremony. Funeral Arrangements: St. Rose and Our Lady have always asked for a donation to the Parish for its service. We also help those who can not afford funeral arrangements. We work with both mortuaries in town to make these arrangement ‘s as easy as possible. They will waive donations if the family is in need. Donation to the Priest and Deacon $100.00. Donation to the Parish which takes care of upkeep, cleaning and electricity. $100.00. Use of the Hall 50.00. Donation cost $250.00.

    RE Office: Open Mon–Fri. 8am-12 (noon). Register for RE Classes. Please call the RE office at 348-4785 for any questions.

    Religious Education: Office will be closed from Monday, Dec 23, 2019 thru Sunday, Jan. 5, 2020. May you all have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. If anyone is interested in teaching or helping with the Religious Education Program for this year 2019-2020. Please call the office at 348-4785, or 428-4920, 428-0149 to get your compliance done.

    Attention Parents: I need you to bring in a Copy of Childs Baptismal Certificate. If they are doing the Sacraments of Reconciliation & First Holy Communion. If not Baptized I need you to come and start paperwork. If have a Third Grader or Off Schedule Student who is doing the Sacrament of Reconciliation & First Holy Communion. There will be Makeup Sacrament Classes. They will be January 26, 2019 & February 1, 2019, from 10am to 12 noon. These is for students that have 4 or more missed classes or Masses. They must attend both classes. Our next RE Meeting will be on January, 14, 2019. At 5:30 pm. In room St. Matthew room, It will be Potluck. ATTENTION: St Rose of Lima Parishioners please if you have to move the barriers that are set out for protection of our children please put them back. Its for the Children’s Safety.

    Attention: Everyone if you are using the Classrooms, Volunteer Hall, and Church. Please make sure if you move chairs and tables that you put them back the way they were. You will be responsible if anything gets broken or destroyed . You will have to pay for it to get fixed, or replaced.

    Safe Environment Program- Compliance Process The volunteer application must be filled out on line: go to https://diocesetucson.org/Employment-opportunities scroll down to Parish Volunteer opportunities. Clearance for volunteers is for 5 years and then has to be renewed. If not renewed in a timely manner, volunteers will have to begin the clearance process with application, etc.

    All volunteers are required to receive an Educational Program every 3 years.

    All volunteers will need to sign an attestation form each year.

    Attention to all Ministry Leaders. Volunteers who have not attended an orientation, fingerprinted, and background check cannot volunteer in any ministry until cleared by the Diocese of Tucson. If you want to volunteer please call OLG 928-428-0149 for appointment for orientation.

Eucharistic Adoration and Benediction every Friday from 9:30-10:30 AM. Pray the Rosary Monday-Friday at 8:30 before Mass.     RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

    GOSPEL REFLECTION: In Matthewś Gospel today, we learn of the birth of Jesus from Josephś perspective. Let us learn from Joseph and Mary to trust God even when things do not work out as we had hoped or planned. May we always remember Emmanuel [God with us] as we deal with our daily struggles and strive to be faithful servants of God.

    Mixed Choir Practice (children & adults) – Choir practice is every Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. in the church. Safe Compliance clearance is required before you can participate.

    RE Piñata Raffle – This is the last week to purchase your raffle tickets for one of the three candy-filled piñatas. Tickets are only $1 a ticket or 6 for $5 and can be purchased from Mary Ann in the office during the week or after Mass. They make perfect gifts! The drawing will be held on Sunday, December 29 after Mass. All proceeds from the raffle will benefit the Roof Fund.

    Thank You – A BIG thank you to everyone who attended the RE Christmas Program. Special thanks to Father Nicodemus for his presence and words of encouragement, Marvin Rios for the music, Antonio Jurado for the set, to all of the ladies from the American Legion Auxiliary for the Christmas stockings, snacks and refreshments, and to Santa for coming by to visit the children.
