Flat deck & buildingmaterials recovered
On February 11th, Princeton RCMPrecovered a stolen Lode-King B trainflat deck semi trailer loaded with build-ing materials. It is valued at $51,500, andwas reported stolen from the Merrittarea in September last year. It was locat-ed by the Princeton RCMP as the resultof routine police patrols on SnowpatchRd., just outside Princeton.
No arrests have been made to dateand the file is still under investigation

Avalanche conditionsThe Canadian Avalanche Centre has
issued a special public avalanche warn-ing for the backcountry areas of theColumbia Mountains from the US bor-der to south of Prince George, and theSouth Coast Mountains from Pembertonto Lillooet a nd north (not in cluding theWhistler and Vancouver areas. Thewarning is in place through t o MondayFebruary 22nd.
They report there are several weaklayers in the upper snowpack, and theweight of a person or a snowmobile will
trigger avalanches. They've had severalclose-calls reported to their office inrecent days. And Wed., one man died inan avalanche near Clearwater.
They say that so far this winter, thesnowpack has been 'forgiving', butthat's come to an end. And what recre-ationalists were doing last month mayno longer be safe to do with current con-ditions.
