Mass SCHEDULE Please note that the Mass Schedule on page 9 of Mercy Alive lists the following week’s Mass Schedule.
STEUBENVILLE SOUTHFor the past 20 years, Steubenville South has served over 70,000 youth, group leaders, and chaperones guiding them to find the true love of God in Jesus Christ. Arough the spirit of St. Francis, Steubenville Conferences are committed to building the Church by calling Catholics into life-changing relationships with Jesus Christ, empowering them to live as His disciples, and equipping them to serve in the New Evangelization. Ae conferences engage Catholics at every phase of their spiritual journey through motivating speakers, dynamic worship, Eucharistic encounters, and inspiring young Catholics to renew their faith with new zeal through the Steubenville experience.
Ae Our Lady of Mercy Life Teen group was excited and blessed as they recently traveled to Alexandria, Louisiana to experience this year’s Steubenville South! We enjoyed welcoming some of our friends from St. George to ride the bus with us! Many of the teens were aTorded the opportunity to participate through the generous support of our faithful parishioners, particularly the Jambalaya Fundraiser hosted by the Life Teen group in May. LIFE TEEN CAMPJuly 26 - August 2 Dahlonega, Georgia
It is that time of year again when life-changing camps are oYered for our high schoolers! Camp Hidden Lake is a week-long Catholic summer camp located in scenic Dahlonega, Georgia (July 26-August 2). It is a place where parish youth groups from all over the country come together to dive deeper into their Catholic faith and strengthen their relationship with Christ, while having unforgettable experiences.
With prayerful consideration, we encourage you to sponsor a high schooler to attend Camp Hidden Lake this summer. While any donation is greatly appreciated, we ask that you would consider a donation of $500 for our Life Teen members to attend Camp Hidden Lake. We also ask that you would keep us in prayer, entrusting us to the Immaculate Heart and Merciful Heart of Our Lady.
My dear brothers and sisters of the Our Lady of Mercy Family, faithful friends, and benefactors,
As I depart for St. Louis King of France, I would like to express my deep gratitude to Fr. Cleo and all of you.
First, I want to express my thanks to the good Lord for allowing me to minister to Him and His people here. Many of you have welcomed me, and helped me to see this place as a true home over the past few years. I am so thankful for the many faithful individuals who have inspired me through their attendance at Daily Mass, Novenas, and parish events. Most of all, I want to thank each of you for your love, your concern, and your support over the past two years. I especially would like to thank you for your patience with my Indian accent!
I will always remember the people of Our Lady of Mercy in my prayers, and I ask your prayers for me. You are all welcome to visit me at St. Louis King of France! Rank you for everything and may God bless you and your families.

Altar Flowers MemorialEach week you may honor a loved one with a giM of $150 to dedicate the floral arrangement that adorns our sanctuary. Please call the Church OQce to make your giM.
Memorial GiftsAt the death of a loved one, many choose in lieu of flowers to encourage friends and family to make a donation to a special charity or cause. Our Lady of Mercy has nourished the spiritual life of so many parishioners and those throughout the Diocese who come here. A Memorial GiM to our parish and school is a wonderful way to acknowledge the lives of our beloved dead with a giM of loving generosity to the church that has been such a spiritual home. Ms. Deanie Smith can discuss beautiful ways for you to remember your loved one.

ADORATION CHAPEL
SAINT OF THE WEEK
St. Kateri Tekakwitha (1656 - 1680)
FEAST DAY: July 12
Kateri’s mother was a Christian Algonquin, taken captive by the Iroquois and given as wife to the chief of the Mohawk clan, the boldest and fiercest of the Five Nations. When she was four, Kateri lost her parents and little brother in a smallpox epidemic that leV her disfigured and half blind. She was adopted by an uncle, who succeeded her father as chief. He hated the coming of the Blackrobes (Jesuit missionaries), but could do nothing to them because a peace treaty with the French required their presence in villages with Christian captives. She was moved by the words of three Blackrobes who lodged with her uncle, but fear of him kept her from seeking instruction. She refused to marry a Mohawk brave and at 19 finally got the courage to take the step of converting. She was baptized with the name Kateri (Catherine) on Easter Sunday.
She was always in danger, for her conversion and holy life created great opposition. On the advice of a
priest, she stole away one night and began a 200-mile walking journey to a Christian Indian village at Sault St. Louis, near Montreal.
For three years she grew in holiness under the direction of a priest and an older Iroquois woman, giving herself totally to God in long hours of prayer, in charity and in strenuous penance. At 23 she took a vow of virginity, an unprecedented act for an Indian woman, whose future depended on being married.
She humbly accepted an “ordinary” life. She practiced extremely severe fasting as penance for the conversion of her nation. She died the aVernoon before Holy cursday. Witnesses said that her emaciated face changed color and became like that of a healthy child. ce lines of sudering, even the pockmarks, disappeared and the touch of a smile came upon her lips.
