Role of immunity in oncological process

Violations of immunological control in the body play a great role in the

beginning of tumor proliferation.

The tumor also has immunodepressive impact on the body and leads to

acquired (secondary) immunodeficiency .

Above mentioned conditions are complicated by immunosuppressive

effect of antitumor drugs.

Being combined, these factors suppress immunity, lead to complications,

hamper treatment and decrease patients’ survival rate.

Bacterial-viral complications (pneumonia, sepsis, dermatitis, meningitis,

herpetic lesions), proliferation of secondary tumors are prevailing.

Problem of immune drugs

Immunorehabilitation of oncological patients is provided with

immunostimulators. Most of them are morally outdated. They were

created in 1960-1990, when scientists had little knowledge of immune

system’ specific.

The problem of immune drugs of older generation is absence of

selectivity. They often do as stimulators, cause allergy, start

autoimmune deceases, provoke further inflammation, deplete supply of

immune cells, indirectly promote proliferation of cancer cells.

Mercureid is a drug of new generation, created on the basis of “new

molecula” and free of these disadvantages. It allows to optimize

antitumor defense of the body in different directions

Distinctive features of Mercureid

1. Mercureid is low molecular weight chelatic complex of amino acids.

Molecular mass of Mercureid – 428 Da (for example: interferon –

20 000 Da). So, cell receptors will always choose molecule of

Mercureid amongst all prescribed drugs, and it ensure that effect of

Mercureid will be prioritized.

2. The body perceives amino acids, which are ingredients of Mercureid,

as structure components of proteinic molecules, and it doesn’t cause

rejection and allergy.

3. Mercureid restores spatial structure of proteinic molecules and

allows cell to share information molecules (cytokines), which

modulate the activity of immune system. Intellectual modulation is

realized for the first time.

4. Immunotropic effect of Mercureid is realized by mucosal immunity

system, which includes 80% of all immune cells. Immune drugs of

older generation don’t affect mucous membrane and stimulate only

20% of lymphocytes.

▼ Taking of Mercureid is aimed to restoring quantity of leukocytes and

lymphocytes.

▼ It increases quantity and activity of special cell-killers (CD-8, CD-16),

which have cytologic effect on neoplastic cells.

tumor necrosis factor. Its mission is to transmit the signal for apoptosis

(self-destruction) to neoplastic cell.

Thirdly

▼ Immune drugs of older generation aggravate the problem, because they often stimulate the production of antibodies that shield a tumor, thus encouraging neoplastic progression. Activation of Th-2 response.

▼ Mercureid suppress an excessive activity of humoral element of immunity (Th-2 response) by switching from non-effective Th-2 response to more effective Th-1 response (cell immunity) that plays a main role in antitumor defense. In that case tumor will be destroyed by T-lymphocyte-killer.

Antibodies block neoplastic cell. They can’t destroy it by

themselves, but they don’t give T-lymphocyte-killer a

chance to attack it (shielding effect).).

Fourthly — Mercureid denaturates tumor cells. Denaturation means

changing of spatial structure of neoplastic proteins. It allows to do them

noticeable for immune cells. To survive, tumor cell “learned” to dump

neoplastic markers from its surface. Therefore lymphocytes-killers can’t

detect such cell and destroy it. Mercureid do transformed cells noticeable

for lymphocytes and don’t give them a chance to escape.

1. Normalizes population levels of CD3+ (T-lymphocytes),

CD19+ (B-lymphocytes).

2. Activates phagocytosis.

3. Restore levels of IgA, IgM, IgG – humoral factors of immunity.

4. Assist in development of Th-1-dependent answer, which plays an

antitumor role.

5. Activates the function of T-helpers I type and suppress the function

of T-helpers II type that results in acceleration of synthesis of

interferon-gamma, IL-2, IL-12, TNF and in decrease of IL-10

production.

6. Normalize antigen-presenting functions of CD4+ cells.

7. Increases activity of CD16+ (natural killers) and cytotoxic

lymphocytes CD8+, responsible for destruction of damaged cells,

unable to regeneration, and abnormal – malignant – cells of the

body.

8. Increases quantity of CD95+ (apoptosis receptor), assisting in tumor

regression by turning on the mechanism of apoptosis of neoplastic

cells.

9. Increases quantity of molecules CD80+ – the main co-stimulating

molecules that strengthen immunogenicity of transformed cells and

therefore cancel anergy of cytotoxic lymphocytes and stimulate

cytolisis of neoplastic cells by immunocompetent cells of the body.

appropriate scientific and technological documentation.
