John Riley is a challenging, inspirational speaker with
the unique God-given ability to communicate great truths
in a simple, understandable manner. He continues to be
the most requested speaker here at the Men’s retreats has
been bringing that truth to our Retreats and throughout
America for 30 years, uplifting and encouraging his listen-
ers to do and be all that is possible through God for His
Glory.
Ed Diaz is a co-founder of Walk Thru The Bible Ministries and has taught that
seminar extensively over the last 30 years. He is Division Director of Search Min-
istries, which provides training for Christians in Life-style Evangelism. Ed co-
authored “The Winning Run”, a man’s devotional book with a baseball theme. He
also serves as Spring Training Chapel Coordinator for the Detroit Tigers. Current-
ly much of his week is spent dealing with executives in small groups or individual
Bible study.
A native of Hawaii, Ross has lived in New York
City, where he studied at Julliard School of Music.
He has a masters in piano and opera orchestrations
and has played at the Paris, London, and Milan
Conservato-ries. Ross can bring Life to Traditional
Hymns in a way that would make Charles and John
Wesley and Cokesbury want to sing along.

Bob Laidlaw feels a connection to the third career Moses, whose burning bush experi-
ence drew him reluctantly into God’s call. He has always admired Moses, who only needed
one burning bush. Bob claims to have driven God to pyromania. At age 48 the wrestling
with God ceased. Bob and his wife Traci sold a business and moved to Kentucky to attend
Asbury Theological Seminary. At age 52, he completed his seminary degree and received
his first appointment in Sopchoppy and Ochlockonee Bay, Florida. After 5 wonderful years
sharing ministry with the saints of Wakulla County, Bob and Traci now serve Christ with
the people of First United Methodist Church in Madison, Florida.
Harold Lewis was ordained in the MS Annual Conf . For the
10 years he served as Senior Pastor of the Lincoln Park UMC in
Washington, D.C. and is now serving the Florida Conference as
Director of Black Church Development. His special interests in-
clude spending quality time with family, reading, jogging, travel-
ing abroad, motivational speaking, performing standup comedy,
meeting new people and just having fun. He and his wife, Janet,
have seven children and His personal coined philosophy on life is
"Never let any negative opinions of you become your reality."
Macel Buss Macel is the wife of Rev. Gaylord Buss retired
UMC pas-tor Illinois Great Rivers Conference. She has spent
years playing the organ and/or piano full time for churches and
funeral homes. She has served as accompanist for college swing
choir, church choirs, Annual Confer-ence Minister's wives
Choir, soloists, quartets and children's choirs. Macel also taught
piano up until retirement and moving to Florida. Macel attends
Coral Springs United Methodist Church and helps musically
wherever needed.
Keith Miller Keith brings 30+ years of experience to ministry
having served in both large and small churches as a Music Director,
Music and Youth Director, His call to ministry had its genesis in a
small Methodist church in McLoud, Ok. where he served a music
internship while in college. Music has always been a strong part of
his life, having grown up in a musical family. Keith arrived on staff
at First Church, Coral Springs in September 2001. He loves to
teach voice, guitar, piano, and music theory, and is passionate about
worship – the most important thing a church can do!

Jim Brown is an Ordained Minister with the Interdenominational Minister's
Association. He received his Degree in Religious Education from Evangelical
Bible Seminary. Pastor Jim and Annie live in Lake Worth, Fl and Jim has been
blessed to be the founding Pastor of The Grace Place Family Church in Lantana,
FL where he still serves. Pastor Jim has taught and preached in seminars, re-
treats, conferences, churches and prisons from Maine to Miami, from Hawaii to
Great Britain, and in all things gives Praise to the Lord!
Scott Smith is a graduate of The Florida State University, and Duke
University. He says his main job is to be a husband to Kris. Second job,
Daddy to Caleb (13), Joshua (11), and Jacob (9), which includes but is
not limited to being a soccer coach, advice giver, rules maker, and fun
guy. When not busy with those two jobs I find time to golf, study history,
read and follow Florida State football. The rest of my time is spent being
the lead pastor at Community of Faith UMC which we started years ago
just west of Disney World.
Music/Worship Leaders “Higher Ground Praise Team”
Of Coral Springs United Methodist Church
was formed in 1998 as a praise band for contemporary worship
services at the First United Methodist Church of Coral Springs.
From there they have grown and shared their music with the com-
munity at homeless shelters, children's homes, cancer benefits,
craft fairs, and coffeehouses. They are strong Christian who try to
serve God not only with their music, but by living Christian lives
that witness through their actions and attitudes. They believe their
ministry can usher people into the presence of God, and further the
cause for Christ.
