MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING Between The John Marshall Law School of Chicago, lliinois And The Faculty of Law of Masaryk University This Memorandum of Understanding (MOD) between The John Marshall Law School of Chicago, Illinois (JMLS) and The Faculty of Law ofMasaryk University (Masaryk) is entered this 17th day of May 2018. JMLS and Masaryk (collectively, the Parties) wish to continue a cooperative program of legal education as memorialized in this MOU and as further described in The John Marshall Law School Czech Law Program description ("The Program Description", attached as Exhibit N. Therefore, for the mutual covenants and benefits set forth below, the Parties agree as follows: 1. Shared Goals and Responsibilities A In addition to the Program Description, JMLS and Masaryk desire to continue the Czech Legal Study Tour (the Tour) for attorneys and judges from the United States. B. Masaryk will continue to plan and organize the Tour for the participants' study in Brno. C. Participants from JMLS will make their own travel and living arrangements for the Tour. JMLS will notify Masaryk in a timely manner if it is unable to recruit sufficient registrants for the Program to make it self-sustaining, as determined by JMLS. D. JMLS and Masaryk will strive to schedule conferences for law teachers, students, lawyers, and other interested persons throughout the term of this MOU on different aspects of Czech, American, and European Union Law. When deemed appropriate as mutually agreed upon by the Parties, proceedings from these conferences will be submitted for publication to mutually agreed upon media outlets and scholarly publications. The Parties will share equally the mutually agreeable costs of such conferences and publications. E. To the extent possible, both Parties will promote the exchange of faculty with each other's institutions. F. JMLS and Masaryk will inform each other of conferences at their respective school and will cooperate in trying to raise funds to enable faculty members from the non-hosting institution to attend these conferences within the parameters of U.S., Czech, EU, and international law. G. JMLS and Masaryk will cooperate in promoting student exchanges. To the extent that funds are available, Masaryk students will be invited to attend courses at JMLS. These students will receive credit and be allowed to take
