OUTSTANDING CLUB DUES

• Clubs which do not pay the dues within four months get terminated.

• Clubs will then have five months to fulfill the following reinstatement requirements:

REINSTATEMENT REQUIREMENTS

• Pay all outstanding financial obligations at the time of termination.

• Pay all membership dues that continue to accrue thereafter.

• Pay a $30 per member reinstatement fee.

• Reinstatement application.

TERMINATION

After 150 days from the termination date, clubs are permanently terminated and cannot be reinstated.

• RID 319 was carved out of RID 318 in 1977 and rechristened as RID 3190 in 1984.• Geographically a compact District covering 8 Revenue Districts ,major center Bangalore.• A city Centric District with 64 Clubs out of 95

clubs ( as of 1st July ) within the city of Bangalore and

only 31 clubs outside Bangalore.

RID 3190 – A Vibrant District

The significant Rotary Projects of RID 3190 Karunashraya, a hospice for the terminally ill Cancer patients. Rotary TTK Blood bank, the largest blood Bank in Karnataka 4 Rotary / Rotary supported Eye Hospitals - 6000 Cataract surgeries per year. 650 heart surgeries every year for poor children below 14. Over 2000 Artificial limbs given annually- totally tally over 20000. 5 Rotary run/ Rotary supported Nephrology centers –Dialysis to 100 patients a day. Around 20 Rotary Administered Schools in the District.

Strategy adopted for meeting his Membership Goals• Took a decision that Membership Growth &

Extension are to be the prime objectives for the year.

• Made a strong team for the key thrust area of membership with 5 District Directors – 2 for Internal Extension, 2 for External Extension and 1 for Women in Rotary

• Started planning and meeting Presidents and Key Members of District Team informally on a monthly basis 6 months before start of the year.

• At every stage stressed on our aim to be World No. 1 in Membership .

Innovative steps to trigger Growth through Extension

• Shared the District map with identified places with the Membership Team and Presidents and asked them for their inputs.

• Invited senior Rotarians to volunteer as GSR for such clubs identified in the list. When conceived , the initial list had 62 potential clubs now the list has reached 105 potential clubs.

• Developed a unique reporting mechanism based on thrust areas where on entering the data for that month, it immediately highlights the strengths & weaknesses

of the clubs.

Objectives:• To ensure that the clubs get strengthened

through increased membership.• To ensure good attendance, successful

project implementation and long term sustainability of clubs.

• Better gender diversity.Strategy - 40: 30 Formula

• Target of minimum membership of 40 for City clubs and 30 for rural clubs or outside city clubs.

GAVE CLUBS SIX MONTHS TO STRATEGISE:• Appoint a Membership Committee.• Adopt 40:30 scheme as club Goal and target

to achieve by GOV.• Invite District Team to speak at the club

meetings.• Have personal meetings with club members to

instill importance of Membership. • Identify the target audience.• By 1st July 2015 have a database of all

prospective members.• Recognize Membership performers at all

major Club events.

GAVE SIX MONTHS TO PROMOTE :• Write personally to leading personalities known

to the members (Chambers, IT Companies , leading professionals and businessmen in the community).

• Developed contact list from mobile phones of existing members to scout for prospective members.

• Interact with Past Rotaractors and Rotary Alumni and invite them to join Rotary.

• Interact with parents of Interactors , RYLA participants and beneficiaries of service projects and invite them to join Rotary.

• Standee at Prime Locations & Malls. • Hoardings at Major Traffic Junctions and in

BMTC Buses .

GAVE CLUBS SIX MONTHS TO RECONNECT

• Get data of Past Rotarians who left the club since 2010.

• Past Partners in their Service Projects.• Form a team  of Senior Rotarians to study the

data and form a modified list (eliminating unwanted, very old, deceased or Transferred cases).

• Write emails to each one of them, inviting them to participate in Rotary’s programs .

• Share this data with other Clubs to invite them to rejoin in case they left because of geographical reasons .

• During Club/District Programs, invite them for an interaction with DG/District Officers.

ACTIONS TAKEN• Membership team visited all the clubs to Spread

the Vision and Goals of the DG .• DG made special motivational visits ( GMV) to

weaker clubs.• Every quarter, organized “Membership

Fortnight”.• “Gift Rotary to your Friend” program launched –

asking members to recommend friends from Mobile contacts .

• Membership development seminar held in September attended by 70% of the clubs Presidents and CMCs.

• At least 4 club orientations and Pre-induction talks were conducted for every new club Chartered.
