COMMITTEE RULINGS
1. PRIORITY ON THE COURSE(a) Greensstaffhaveprioritywhilstworkingonthecourse.(b) The tee is closed for general play whenever it is reserved for
competitions, matches or society bookings.(c) All tee bookings, whether for competitions or general play,
will be made on the BRS system in accordance with any rulesspecifiedatthetime,unlessthecoursehasbeenmadeavailable for casual play with no tee booking required. Changes in the rules applicable to tee booking will be communicated to members prior to being introduced.
(d) If a match fails to keep its place on the course and loses one clear hole on the players in front, it must invite the match following to pass.
(e) If there is no reserved tee time, all players intending to play in a game must be present on the tee, to establish that group’s precedence in order of play.
(f) A player must not play more than 2 balls on the course or pitch and putt course and must not use any part of the course proper as a practice area.
2. COMPETITIONS – GENERAL (a) Conditions of Entry for All Competitions
i) All players must register prior to starting their round and collect their scorecard. Entry fees will be deducted automatically from Green Cards at the time of registration.
ii) Itistheplayer’sresponsibilitytoconfirmthatthecorrecttitle of the competition, date, player’s name, and course handicap are recorded on the scorecard. Course handicap is expressed as an integer and represents the number of strokes the player receives for competition purposes before allowances.
iii) Priorityonthefirstteeisaccordingtothestartsheetorthe order of the draw.
iv) Players should be at the tee 5 minutes before their startingtimeandbereadytoplay.Theymustdriveoffontime and play without delay throughout the round.
v) Players arriving on the tee, ready to play within 5 minutes after their starting time will be penalised under the R & A RulesofGolf5.3a-lossofthefirstholeinmatchplay,ortwostrokesatthefirstholeinstrokeplay.Playersarrivingmorethanfiveminuteslatewillbedisqualified.
vi) Scorecards must be completed legibly, signed by both player and marker.
vii) All competitions are operated on the PSI (Player Score Input) computer system. Immediately after completion of play, all players are required to enter their gross scores, either via the HowDidIDo phone app or on the terminal in the Lounge and post their scorecard in the designated box.
viii) Players cannot NR their round. If a player, having started a hole has no score to record, they must enter “NR” or 0 (zero) for that hole only and continue to complete the remaining holes. Scores must be input on the PSI system and scorecards returned as normal. Failure to return a scorecard in these circumstances will be dealt with in accordance with rule 7.1(b) of the World Handicap System (WHS) Rules of Handicapping 2020 (Penalty Score).
ix) Players must mark NS (not started) for any hole that is not commenced.
x) Members who cancel or fail to turn up on the day of competition are liable for payment of the entry fee.
xi) Members must not enter their names on competition start sheets if they do not intend to play in unfavourable weather conditions.
xii) Players may use buggies in all competitions except the Gents’ Club Championship and any other competitions where the rules do not permit the use of buggies.
(b) Failure to Complyi) Members who fail to comply will be emailed and
reminded of their responsibility to comply with the Conditions of Entry.
ii) Members who fail to comply on 3 occasions in any year will be banned from entering any club competitions for adayfollowingthe3rdoffence.Furthernon-compliancewill result in disciplinary action being taken.
(c) Eligibility to enter competitionsi) Cup, Trophy, and Prize Table Competitions (Stroke Play) Members must hold a WHS handicap index and must
also have submitted a minimum of 8 acceptable scores in singles competitions or general play rounds played under stroke play rules during the 12 Months prior to the competition. (Except Gentlemen’s Veterans’ Cup for which 1 acceptable score in previous 12 Months is the minimum requirement.)

ii) Knockout Competitions Members must hold a WHS handicap index and must
also have submitted a minimum of 8 acceptable scores in singles competitions or general play rounds played under stroke play rules during the 12 Months prior to the deadline for entering the competition.
iii) Junior members Juniors should refer to Committee Rulings Section 9 and
also to the conditions of entry on each competition start sheet.
(d) Suspension or Cancellation of Competition Play During competition play, the Course Manager, the Head
Greenkeeper, the Professional, the General Manager or a member of the Committee overseeing the competition, may close the course or re-open it, should conditions, in their opinion, warrant it.
Discontinue play immediately - One prolonged note on klaxon-playersmustceaseplayimmediatelyhavingfirstmarked the position of their ball.
Discontinue play - Three consecutive notes on klaxon repeated - players may complete the hole being played or mark their ball as it lies.
Play to resume - Two short notes on the klaxon repeated. The klaxon will be kept in, and sounded from, the
professional’s shop. A second klaxon will be located in the course toilets at the 9th
tee - players in the vicinity are requested to sound this klaxon forthebenefitofplayersontheback9ofthecourse.
(e) Competition Tiesi) Any ties in competitions where the handicap stroke table
is not relevant, such as individual Medal play, will be decided on the scores for the last 9, 6, 3, 2, 1, and then 12, 15, by deducting the relevant fraction, i.e. one-half, one-third, one-sixth, etc. of the handicaps from the score for those holes.
ii) Any ties in competitions where the handicap stroke table is relevant, such as four-ball stroke play and individual Stableford competitions, will be decided by taking handicap strokes as they were assigned for the competition, using the players’ respective stroke allocation tables.
iii) In 36-hole competitions, ties will be decided on the last 18 holes and then as above, except the Gents’ Club Championshipwhereatieforfirstplacewillbedecidedbysudden-deathplayoffonthesameday.Tiesforotherplaceswill be decided on the last 18 holes and then as above.

(f) Competition Formats Members are reminded that start sheet posting dates, course
access and availability may vary for certain competitions, e.g. Invitation Days, Captains’ Days, etc. and subject to competition format, e.g. shotgun start, two-tee start, etc.
(g) Knock-Out Competitionsi) Members must not enter knock-out or league
competitions unless they are prepared to arrange matches,playallmatchesontimeandcanoffermidweekand weekend dates.
ii) Entry to Knockout Competitions will be via the HowDidIDo app unless otherwise stated. The draw will be conducted electronically by the Pro Shop and members informed by email. All participants are equally responsible for making contact. It is a condition of entry that members consent to their email and phone details being made available to their opponent to assist in the organisation of matches.
iii) All parties in matches not played to time will be disqualifiedunlessonepartyconcedesawalk-over.Ifa date cannot be agreed between players, the deadline datespecifiedinthecompetitionruleswillactasthecompulsory playing date.
iv) Knock-out matches are permitted to delay or suspend play due to exceptionally bad weather by agreement of all participants. If the match is started on the same day or any subsequent day, the competition must restart from the next tee immediately after the last hole completed.
v) Match play, in any form, is prohibited on competition daysuntilthelastcompetitorshaveteedoff.
(h) Prize Presentations Prize winners who are unable to attend should submit
apologies and arrange for collection of their prizes, otherwise prizes will be forfeited. Prizes should be collected within one day of competition date.
(i) Competition Age Qualifications Gents’ Seniors’ Opens 55 years and over Gents’ Seniors’ Medals 65 years and over Gents’ Veterans’ Cup 70 years and over Gents’ Seniors’ Friendly Matches 55 years and over Ladies’ Joyce Hyde Cup 50 years and over(j) Hole in one Membersachievingahole-in-oneduringanofficialclub
competition (excluding team and AmAm competitions)
will be eligible for a bar tab of up to £75; the member’s scorecard, clearly marked, must be returned to the General Manager. Members achieving a hole-in-one in other play, duly witnessed, will be presented with a bottle of whisky or sherry.
3. SATURDAY COMPETITIONS (7-DAY MEMBERS)(a) Competitions for 7-day members will be held on Saturdays.
Where there is a Ladies’ and a Gentlemen’s competition on the same day, these will be of a similar format and will be played concurrently, utilising the same start sheet. Gents and Ladies may play in the same match, whilst playing their own competitions,eachplayingofftheirrespectiveteesandstrokeindex.
(b) Start sheet booking will open on BRS at 4pm on Mondays 12 days prior to the competition.
(c) A member may enter his/her own name and the names of all other players in the tee time.
(d) Competition start times will be detailed on BRS. Members entering to play during these times prior to the day must play in the competition. Social golf will be available to book on BRS after the last stated tee time for the competition.
(e) If there are any vacant competition start times on the start sheet on the day of play, 7-day members may utilise these times for social golf. Players must register no earlier than 1 hour in advance of the vacant tee time. The format for social golf must be of a similar or lesser format than that of the competition.
(f) Competition results will be published separately for both Gents and Ladies competitions on the notice boards in the respective locker rooms. Credits will be applied to the winners’ Green Cards as per the Prize Schedules.
4. SUNDAY COMPETITIONS (7- AND 6-DAY MEMBERS)(a) Competitions for 7-day and 6-day members will be held
on Sundays. Where there is a Ladies’ and a Gentlemen’s competition on the same day, these will be of a similar format and will be played concurrently, utilising the same start sheet. Gents and Ladies may play in the same match, whilst playing theirowncompetitions,eachplayingofftheirrespectiveteesand stroke index.
(b) Start sheet booking will open on BRS at 4pm on Mondays 13 days prior to the competition.
(c) A member may enter his/her own name and the names of all other players in the tee time.
(d) Competition start times will be detailed on BRS. Members
entering to play during these times prior to the day must play in the competition. Social golf will be available to book on BRS before and after the last stated tee time for the competition.
(e) If there are any vacant competition start times on the start sheet on the day of play, members may utilise these times for social golf. Players must register no earlier than 1 hour in advance of the vacant tee time. The format for social golf must be of a similar or lesser format than that of the competition.
(f) Competition results will be published separately for both Gents and Ladies competitions on the notice boards in the respective locker rooms. Credits will be applied to the winners’ Green Cards as per the Prize Schedules.
5. WEDNESDAY COMPETITIONS (7- AND 6-DAY LADIES) (a) Ladies’ competitions for 7-day and 6-day members will be
held on Wednesday mornings; the 1st tee will be reserved for oneteetimepriortothefirstandoneteetimeafterthelastcompetitors’ start time.
(b) Start sheet booking will open on Wednesdays two weeks prior to the competition. Details will be shown on each competition notice. Ladies wishing to play in the competition outside of the times listed on the start sheet should advise the Pro Shop or the Lady Captain. Ladies playing at these times will not have priority over other players on the course.
(c) Players in 9-hole competitions should enter their names on the appropriate start sheet but should be prepared to move into an earlier time slot in order to play immediately after the last 18-hole players.
(d) Competition results will be published on the notice board in the Ladies’ locker room and credits will be applied to the winners’ Green Cards as per the Prize Schedules.
6. THURSDAY COMPETITIONS (GENTLEMEN)(a) Gentlemen’s medal competitions for 7-day and 6-day
members will be held on one Thursday per Month. In addition,competitionswithdifferentformatsmaybeaddedfrom time to time.
(b) Start sheet booking will open on BRS at 4pm on Thursday 14 days prior to the competition.
(c) A member may enter his own name and the names of all other players in the tee time.
d) Competition start times will be detailed on BRS. Members entering to play during these times prior to the competition day must play in the competition. Social golf will be
available to book on BRS after the last stated tee time for the competition.
(e) If there are any vacant competition start times on the start sheet on the day of play, members may utilise these times for social golf. Players must register no earlier than 1 hour in advance of the vacant tee time. The format for social golf must be of a similar or lesser format than that of the competition.
(f) Competition results will be published on the notice board in the Gents’ locker room and credits will be applied to the winners’ Green Cards as per the Prize Schedules.
7. ENTER ON ARRIVAL STABLEFORD COMPETITIONSa) Singles Stableford competitions will be held on Thursdays
and are open to all Gentleman playing members.(b) Singles Stableford competitions will be held on Sundays and
are open to all playing members.(c) These competitions will run throughout the day, with no pre-
booked start sheet. All players must register prior to starting their round and collect their scorecard. Entry fees will be deducted automatically from Green Cards at the time of entry. Immediately after completion of play, all players are required to enter their gross scores, either via the HowDidIDo phone app or on the terminal in the Lounge, and post their scorecard in the designated box.
(d) Matches may comprise two, three or four balls. Players in the competition may play with players not taking part in the competition, but they must have their scorecard marked by a player with a WHS handicap Index.
(e) Players in the competition will not have priority on the course.
(f) Thursday results will be published on the notice board in the Gents’ locker room and credits will be applied to the winners’ Green Cards as per the Prize Schedules.
(g) Sunday results will be published as a combined competition (gents and ladies) on the notice boards in both locker rooms. Credits will be applied to the winners’ Green Cards as per the Prize Schedules.
8. GENTLEMEN’S COMPETITIONS(a) Medal qualifiers and medal finals
i) Members who return the best net scores in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd divisional Monthly medals on Saturdays, and 1st and 2nd divisional and Seniors Monthly medal on
Thursdays, will qualify for the Medal Finals. Members who return the best gross score will compete for the scratch prize on Medal Finals days. Medals qualifying the winners for Finals Day will be designated April, May etc.
ii) All tied winning net/gross scores will be decided by card play-offinaccordancewithsection2(e)(i)above.
iii) Onceaplayerhasqualifiedforthe1st,2ndor3rdDivisional Medal Finals, he cannot qualify again in any otherdivisionatalaterdateandmustplayoffhiscurrentcourse handicap on Medal Finals Day, playing in the DivisionalFinalinwhichhequalified.
iv) IfamemberwhohasalreadyqualifiedfortheMedalFinals subsequently wins another medal competition, then the next best net/gross score will qualify.
v) ThursdayandSaturdayMedalQualifiersandFinalsareseparate competitions and members may qualify in either or both.
(b) Winter Competitionsi) Scores in winter singles competitions will be acceptable
asdefinedbytheWHS,unlessconditionsaredeemednot to comply with the rules set out by the WHS for acceptable scores. This decision will be taken on the day by the Course Manager, Professional or General Manager.
ii) Competition results will be published for one division (all handicaps) and credits will be applied to the winners’ Green cards as per the Prize Schedules.
9. LADIES’ COMPETITIONS (a) Medal Qualifiers / Finals
i) Members who return the best net scores, across all divisions, on Wednesdays will qualify for the Medal Finals. Members who return the best gross score will compete for the scratch prize on Medal Finals Day.
ii) Members who return the best net score and best gross score on Sundays, across all divisions, will qualify for Medal Finals Day.
iii) Medal Finals Day will be held on a Wednesday.iv) All tied winning net/gross scores will be decided by card
play-offinaccordancewithsection2(e)(i)above.v) OnceaplayerhasqualifiedforMedalFinalsinone
division, she cannot qualify again in another division at a laterdate,andmustplayoffhercurrentcoursehandicaponMedalFinalsDay,playinginthedivisionalfinalinwhichshequalified.
vi) Spring and Autumn Meetings will be run as Medal Qualifiers.
(b) Par / Stableford Qualifiers / Finalsi) Members who return the best scores, across all divisions,
on Wednesdays will qualify for the Par Finals.ii) Members who return the best score on Sundays, across
all divisions, will qualify for the Par Finals.iii) Par Finals will be held on a Wednesday.iv) Alltiedwinningscoreswillbedecidedbycardplay-off
in accordance with section 2(e)(ii) above. v) OnceaplayerhasqualifiedforParFinalsinonedivision,
she cannot qualify again in another division at a later dateandmustplayoffhercurrentcoursehandicaponParFinalsDay,playinginthedivisionalfinalinwhichshequalified.
(c) The scores of Ladies playing in Sunday competitions which are “alternate day” to corresponding Wednesday competitions will be combined with the relevant Wednesday scores to give a combined result for prize allocation.
(d) Competition Pre-Draws There will be a pre-draw for certain competitions, e.g. Spring
and Autumn Meetings, Easter Texas Scramble, Captain v Vice Captain. Entry sheets will be posted for such competitions, indicating that a Pre-Draw will be drawn and posted prior to the competition day.
10. JUNIOR AND INTERMEDIATE MEMBERS(a) Junior members under 18 years of age must enter
competitions with at least one adult playing member or a designated(PGA)memberoftheProfessional’sstaff.
(b) Knock-Out, Trophy and Prize Table Competitions: Intermediates may enter unrestricted. Junior boys under 18 years of age with a handicap index of 12 or less may enter unrestricted. Junior girls under 18 years of age with a handicap index of 22 or less may enter unrestricted. No other junior members may enter such competitions.
(c) Gentlemen’s Thursday/Saturday, Medal/Stableford competitions: Intermediates may enter unrestricted. Junior boys under 18 years of age with a handicap index of 12 or less may enter unrestricted. Junior boys with a higher handicap index may enter these competitions only if there are vacancies on the start sheet 3 days prior to the competition.
They will pay £1 entry fee and play for the junior prize voucher (minimum value £5). They cannot qualify for medal orsalverfinals.
(d) Entry conditions for Juniors will be posted on the start sheet.(e) Junior and Intermediate members have access to the course
seven days per week, except at those times when the course is closed for matches, competitions or society bookings and in accordance with competition conditions of entry.
11. HANDICAPS(a) A new member, or a member who has nominated another
club as their Home Club, should provide their CDH number, so that their handicap record can be created. Members are not eligible to play in club competitions until they have a handicap record at this club.
(b) New members who do not hold a WHS handicap index must submit three 18 hole scores, six 9 hole, or a combination of both adding up to 54 holes, before being allocated a handicap index, and will not be eligible to participate in club competitions until this has been allocated. The cards, datedandsignedbyaplayerwithanofficialhandicapindex,should be submitted together to the Professional Shop.
(c) A member who is also a member of another club and has nominated the other club as his/her Home Club, may take partinanyclubcompetition,providedthathis/herofficialhandicapindexhasbeenconfirmedandthathe/shemeetstherequired entry criteria.
(d) Handicap divisions – Saturday competitions - Gentlemen’s playing handicap - 1st division up to 9, 2nd division 10 - 15, 3rd division 15 and above. Thursday competitions 1st division up to 12, 2nd division 13 and above. Ladies playing handicap - 1st division up to 25, 2nd division 26 - 33, 3rd division 34 and above.
(e) All singles medal/stroke play/stableford/par competitions are competitions for handicapping purposes, unless stated otherwise.
12. GENERAL PLAY SCORES (WORLD HANDICAP SYSTEM)(a) AGeneralPlayscoreisdefinedasbeingoneinwhichan
organised competition is not being contested, and golfers are playing either a casual round, or competitively, but not in an event organised by a Committee.
(b) All players may submit a General Play score for handicap purposes, provided it meets the criteria set out in subsections (c) and (d) below.
(c) A score is acceptable for handicap purposes if the round has been played:
(i) in an authorized format of play over at least the minimum number of holes required for either a 9-hole or an 18-hole score to be acceptable;
(ii) in the company of at least one other person, who may also act as a marker;
(iii) by the Rules of Golf;(iv) on a golf course with a current Course Rating and Slope
Rating,wherelengthandnormalplayingdifficultyismaintained at a consistent level.
(v) Score cards must be marked by and clearly signed by a fellow player with a handicap index.
(d) Players intending to return a General Play score must register prior to play, either on the England golf app (MyEG), on the HowDidiDo app, or in the Pro Shop. They must check thattheintendedteesatisfiesrulesforanacceptablescore.Immediately on completion of play they must enter their gross scores, either by the England Golf or HowDidIDo apporbyrequestingtheProfessionalstafftorecordontheClubV1 system. The signed scorecard must be left in the designated box in accordance with rule 4.4 of the WHS Rules of Handicapping 2020 (peer review).
(e) A General Play score may be returned at any club, regardless of whether the player is a member, provided it meets the criteria set out in subsection (c) above. The method of pre-registeringfortheroundandreturningthescoremaydifferdepending upon the system in place at the host club.
(f) A player who registers for a General Play score and does not return that card will be subject to action under rule 7.1(b) of the WHS Rules of Handicapping 2020 (Penalty Score).
13. PRACTICE AREAS(a) No restrictions for full playing members.(b) Social members (excluding Category 11) are permitted to
use the Putting Green and Pitch and Putt course, but not the Practice Areas unless receiving tuition from the Professional Staff.
(c) Players must not play more than 2 balls on the course or on the Pitch and Putt Course.
14. CAR PARKING / ACCESS(a) The speed limit on Lime Tree Avenue is 10mph and must be strictly
observed. Please be aware of pedestrians, cyclists and dogs.
(b) Members’ vehicles must be parked in the Car Park, in a marked parking space, not on the grass (unless otherwise directed) and not near the Clubhouse. Two spaces are designated for disabled parking; blue badges must be clearly displayed in the vehicles.
(c) No access is permitted to and from the Club through Wollaton Park. SatNav systems do not recognize that Lime Tree Avenue is a closed road beyond the Club Car Park; SatNav users should key in “Oundle Drive, NG8 1BN” as the destination address and then take the next left to access the Club.
15. MEMBERS’ GUESTS Members can introduce guests at any time during the week
and on Sundays. On Saturday’s members can introduce guests after 2pm from April to October and after 12pm from November to March. Members introducing guests to play on the course must ensure that the guests accompany them into the Pro’s Shop to register in person and the member must play with their guests. Members introducing guests into the Clubhouse must sign-in their guests in the Visitors’ Book in the entrance hall.
16. MOBILE PHONES Use of mobile phones on the Course is strictly discouraged,
other than for genuine emergencies. Phones must remain on silent/vibrate. At least one player in the group should have a mobile phone in case of emergency/accident. If an ambulance/emergency service is called whilst on the course, pleaseinformtheGeneralManager/Office/ProShopinorderthat the ambulance can be directed to the appropriate location on the course.
Mobile phones may be kept on silent/vibrate in the Clubhouse and Patio. However, calls may only be made and received in the entrance hall, changing rooms, and the car park.
17. DRESS RULES On the course - Smart, appropriate golf attire and golf shoes
must be worn at all times. Acceptable - Golf caps (peak to front), golf hats, appropriate
wind or waterproof golf tops/trousers. Gents should wear polo shirts, turtle/polo neck tops, tucked in to appropriate full-length trousers or tailored knee length shorts, with long plain socks or white sports socks. Ladies should wear collared/turtle/polo neck tops, appropriate golf trousers, 3 /4 trousers, shorts or skirts.
Not acceptable - Blue denim clothing, bandanas, t shirts/ vest tops, athletic/football style shorts/trousers/tops, rugby shirts, tracksuit tops/trousers, cargo style trousers/shorts, trainers, clothes with large logos or lettering.
In the Clubhouse - Smart casual dress may be worn at all times in all rooms.
Gents - A collared shirt or turtle/polo neck top is required, which must be worn tucked into full length trousers or tailored knee length shorts.
Not acceptable - In addition to the items listed above as not acceptable on the course - golf shoes, trainers, golf caps or headwear, beachwear, beach sandals.
From midday on Sundays and Public Holidays smart trainers, denim and t-shirts are acceptable. Football shirts, ripped/torn clothing (even as part of the design) and athleisure remain prohibited.
Players arriving at the Clubhouse incorrectly dressed may enter the locker rooms using the outside locker room entrances and change into appropriate dress before accessing the Clubhouse or the course.
Members must also ensure that their guests comply with the dress rules at all times.
The board and management reserve the right to relax the dress code for social functions as appropriate.
18. DOGS Dogs are not permitted in the Clubhouse, or on the course
Working dogs such as sight assist are exempt in all areas.

WOLLATON PARK GOLF CLUB LIMITED
CLUB RULESEffective from 25th November 2021
1. NAME OF THE CLUB The name of the Club will be Wollaton Park Golf Club
Limited referred to henceforth in these Club Rules as “the Club”.
1.1 The object of the Club is to provide facilities for its members and to promote participation in the sport of golf.
2. MANAGEMENT OF THE CLUB2.1 The Club will be managed, in accordance with the Articles of
Association of the Companies Act and these Club Rules, by the General Committee which will consist of the following elected members of the Club, who will also act as Directors of Wollaton Park Golf Club Limited: The Chair of the General Committee The Chair of Finance and Membership The Chair of Course The Chair of Competitions The Chair of House and Social.
2.2 The General Committee will establish sub-committees as appropriate and may co-opt members of the Club to serve on them.
2.3 The Gentlemen’s Captain and Vice-Captain and the Ladies’ Captain and Vice-Captain will be members of sub-committees relatedtogolfingactivitiessuchasCourseandCompetitionsand can be invited to serve on other sub-committees if they have a particular interest or expertise.
2.4 The General Manager shall be appointed as Company Secretary and shall be entitled to attend and speak at meetings of the General Committee, but shall not have a vote.
2.5 The Chair of the General Committee and the General Manager shall be required to convene a minimum of 8 meetings of the General Committee in each year. In addition, a meeting shall be called by the General Manager if requested to do so by any 2 General Committee members.
2.6 At least 7 days’ notice shall be given of meetings of the
General Committee, a quorum for which shall not be less than 3 members.
2.7 The Directors, Captains, Vice-Captains and co-opted members of sub-committees shall not be entitled to remuneration in respectofofficeorreimbursementofexpensesincurredinconnection with attending meetings. Reimbursement of expenses incurred representing the Club at external meetings may only be paid if approved in advance by the General Committee.Anyprivilegesofferedtothesemembersmustbeapproved by the General Committee and published for the information of members.
2.8 The Directors will publish for the information of members a 5-year rolling business plan at least two weeks in advance of the Annual General Meeting.
2.9 In the event of a vacancy on the General Committee the vacancymaybefilledbyco-optinganadultplayingmemberto serve until the next Annual General Meeting. Such co-opted member will have full voting rights but will not act as a director of Wollaton Park Golf Club Limited.
3. APPOINTMENT/ELECTION OF GENERAL COMMITTEE, CAPTAINS AND VICE-CAPTAINS
3.1 A list for the nomination of General Committee members, Captains and Vice-Captains to be elected for the ensuing year will be placed on the notice board in the Clubhouse at least 35 days before the Annual General Meeting and will remain in place until 21 days before the meeting, after which no further nominations may be made for that year.
3.2 Nominees must be adult playing members, and must have been adult playing members of the Club for at least 3 years. Each nominee will have a proposer and seconder, both of whom will be adult playing members.
3.3 The Gentlemen’s Captain and the Gentlemen’s Vice-Captain will be gentlemen playing members, and will be nominated by gentlemen playing members. The Ladies’ Captain and the Ladies’ Vice-Captain will be lady playing members and will be nominated by lady playing members. The Captains and Vice-Captains for the forthcoming year will be elected by the adult playing members at the Annual General Meeting of the Club.
3.4 Members of the General Committee will be elected by the adult playing members at the Annual General Meeting of the Club for a maximum period of 3 years, following which they may stand for re-election.
3.5 If the number of candidates duly proposed and seconded
exceeds the number to be elected, voting will be by ballot of all adult playing members. The ballot may be conducted electronically, or by post, or by combination of both methods. Votes will be validated and counted by two members who are not candidates or members of the General Committee. These members will notify the names of the successful candidates to the General Manager, and these will be announced at the Annual General Meeting.
3.6 The General Manager shall be appointed by the General Committee.
3.7 In the event of a General Committee member being unable toorfailingtofulfiltheirresponsibilities,orasaresultof misconduct, the appointment of such a member may be terminated by a simple majority vote of the General Committee or by a simple majority vote of a General Meeting of members.
4. GENERAL MEETINGS OF THE CLUB4.1 The Annual General Meeting of the Club will be held on the
fourth Thursday in October. At least 21 days’ notice of such meeting will be posted on the notice board in the Clubhouse, and a notice of the meeting, the agenda and a copy of the accountsforthepreviousfinancialyearwillbeemailedor sent by post at least 14 days before the meeting to each member entitled to attend.
4.2 Any member of the Club who is entitled to vote at the Annual General Meeting may submit in writing to the General Manager at least 28 days before that meeting, a notice of motion, which will have been seconded and such motion will be included on the agenda.
4.3 The General Committee may at any time call a Special General Meeting. At least 21 days’ notice of such meeting will be posted on the notice board in the Clubhouse and a notice of the meeting and the agenda will be emailed or sent by post at least 14 days before the meeting to each member entitled to attend.Nobusinessotherthanthatspecifiedinthenoticewillbe transacted at a Special General Meeting.
4.4 A Special General Meeting will be held within 28 days of the General Manager receiving a requisition in writing, signed by not less than 30 adult playing members, clearly stating the business to be transacted. At least 14 days’ notice of such meeting will be posted on the notice board in the Clubhouse, and a notice of the meeting and the agenda will be emailed or sent by post at least 14 days before the meeting to each member entitledtoattend.Nobusinessotherthanthatspecifiedinthenotice will be transacted at a Special General Meeting.
4.5 Only adult playing members (aged 18 and over) will be entitled to attend and vote at any General Meeting of the Club, participate in any postal ballot and propose or second a candidateforOfficeorGeneralCommittee.
4.6 Quorum4.6.1 No business, other than the election of the
Gentlemen’s Captain and Ladies’ Captain, Gentlemen’s Vice-Captain and Ladies’ Vice- Captain, General Committee members, Auditors and the acceptance of the audited accounts of the Club, will be transacted at an Annual General Meeting unless at least 75 adult playing members are present.
4.6.2 No business will be transacted at a Special General Meeting unless at least 75 adult playing members are present.
4.7 The General Committee may organise a ballot of members on issues of major importance to the Club. The ballot may be conducted electronically, or by post or a combination of both methods.
4.8 Voting upon any motion other than one considered under Rule 15 will be decided on by a simple majority basis.
4.9 General meetings of the Club will be chaired by the Chair of the General Committee (or their nominated representative); the Chair will have a casting vote in the event of a tie.
5. MEMBERSHIP Membership of the Club will be open to all persons,
irrespective of ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, religion or beliefs, age, sex or disability, except as a necessary consequence of the requirements of golf as a particular sport.
5.1 Membership of the Club shall consist of the following categories:
Category 1 Seven Day Adult Playing Members (Sunday to Saturday)
Category 2 Seven Day Adult (Retired) Playing Members (Sunday to Saturday)
Category 3 Six Day Adult Playing Members (Sunday to Friday)
Category 4 Six Day Adult (Retired) Playing Members (Sunday to Friday)
Category 5a Seven Day Country Adult Playing Members Category 5b Six Day Country Adult Playing Members Category 6a Intermediate Playing Members (age 21-28) Category 6b Intermediate Playing Members (age 18-21)
Category 7a Junior Playing Members (Under 18) Category 7b Junior Playing Members (Under 16) Category 8 Cadet Playing Members Category 9 Social Members Category 10 Social (Retired Playing) Members Category 11 Social (Partners of Playing) Members Category 12 Six Day (9 hole) Adult (75+) Playing Members
(Sunday to Friday)5.2 The numbers of members in each playing category shall be
limited to: Categories 1 to 4 695 Category 5 25 Categories 6 to 8 755.3 Adult Playing Categories
5.3.1 Categories 2 and 4 (Retired): members shall have been playing members of the Club for the preceding 10 years, and (i) shall be aged 65 or over and shall have joined the Club prior to 1st April 2014 or (ii) shall be aged 70 or over and shall have joined the Club from 1st April 2014 onwards, as at the start of the membership year (1st April).
5.3.2 Categories 3 and 4 (Six Day): members may use the practice areas, pitch and putt, putting green and clubhouse facilities on Saturdays.
5.3.3 Category 5 (Country): playing members must not have a residence within 50 miles of the Club.
5.3.4 Category 12 (9 hole): members shall no longer be able to play 18 holes, shall be aged 75 or over and shall have been playing members of the Club for the preceding 10 years or more at the start of the membership year (1st April). Such members may play 9 holes only Sunday to Friday, and may also use the practice areas, pitch and putt, putting green and clubhouse facilities on Saturdays.
5.4 Intermediate Playing Category5.4.1 Intermediate playing membership is open to adults
aged 18 and over.5.4.2 Intermediate playing members shall transfer to
7-day or 6-day playing membership at the start of the membership year (1st April) following their 28th birthday.
5.5 Junior Playing Category5.5.1 Junior playing membership is open to juniors aged
over 11 years and under 18 years.
5.5.2 Junior playing members shall transfer to Intermediate playing membership at the start of the membership year (1st April) following their 18th birthday.
5.5.3 The General Committee may limit the use of the Club’s facilities by Junior members and other persons under 18 years of age; any such limitations will be displayed in the Clubhouse.
5.6 Cadet Playing Category5.6.1 Cadet playing membership is open to cadets under 11
years of age.5.6.2 Cadet playing members shall transfer to Junior
playing membership at the start of the membership year (1st April) following their 11th birthday.
5.6.3 Cadet playing members cannot play on the course untiljudgedproficientbytheClubProfessional.
5.6.4 Cadet playing members may only use the course and practice facilities when accompanied by their proposer or seconder, or an adult playing member with written parental consent.
5.6.5 Cadet playing members must be accompanied by their proposer/seconder/ parent/guardian or adult member with written parental consent at all times in the Clubhouse.
5.6.6 Committee may limit the use of the Club’s facilities by Cadet members and other persons under 18 years of age; any such limitations will be displayed in the Clubhouse.
5.7 Social Categories5.7.1 Category 9: Social membership is open to adults aged
18 and over.5.7.2 Category 10: Social (retired playing) membership
is restricted to members who have been playing members for at least 10 years and who are no longer able to continue playing.
5.7.3 Category 11: Social (playing members’ partners) membership is open to partners/wives/husbands (aged 18 and over) of all current adult playing members.
5.7.4 Social members may use the putting green and pitch and putt course, but not the practice areas.
5.7.5 The number of Social members shall be reviewed from time to time by the General Committee.
6. TEMPORARY MEMBERS AND GUESTS6.1 Visiting society and green fee players shall be permitted
to use the facilities and to purchase drinks from the bar as temporary members on payment of the fees as determined by the General Committee and posted in the Professional’s Shop and in the Clubhouse.
6.2 Playing members aged 18 and over may introduce up to three guests to play at a reduced green fee on any one occasion. The guests must play in the same game as the introducing member, and the member shall be responsible for the behaviour of their guests on the course and in the Clubhouse.
6.3 Playing members and Social members aged 18 and over may introduce up to 5 guests to the Clubhouse on any one occasion. The guests’ names (including members’ spouses and family) must be entered in the Visitors’ Book, and must be dated and signed by the member. Members shall be responsible for the behaviour of their guests whilst on Club premises.
6.4 Junior playing members aged under 16 years are not permitted to introduce visitors to the course or the Clubhouse.
6.5 Junior playing members aged 16 years to 18 years, provided thattheyhaveanofficialhandicap,arepermittedtointroduceno more than 4 visitors to the course or Clubhouse during a calendar year.
7. APPLICATION FOR MEMBERSHIP7.1 An applicant for playing or social membership should apply
on the appropriate Application Form; applicants over 18 years of age should enclose a passport-sized photograph.
7.2 Wherever possible, an applicant should be proposed and seconded by two playing members of at least 3 years standing, who have known the applicant for at least 1 year. These members should submit letters in support of the applicant, and should attend the membership welcoming induction meeting with the applicant.
7.3 These members must accept responsibility for introducing the applicant to the Club procedures and etiquette. Should the applicant be inexperienced at golf, they must supervise his/her introduction to the course and competitive play and ensure that he/she does not inconvenience other players and competitors.
7.4 Applicants who are unable to provide such playing members as proposer and seconder should submit at least two personal/business/golf club references.
7.5 Applicants shall be elected to membership immediately following the welcoming meeting with members of the General Committee and upon receipt of their fees to play the course. His/her details, with photograph, shall be posted in the Clubhouse for a period of 21 days to introduce them to existing members.
7.6 If the required membership category is full then applicants will be entered onto the waiting list for membership until a vacancy is available.
7.7 The Club may refuse membership or expel from membership onlyforgoodandsufficientcause,suchasconductorcharacter likely to bring the Club or sport into disrepute. If, after admission to membership, it is found that the new member has provided incorrect information in the course of his/her application, or that the above Rules regarding the application have not been complied with, the General Committee may call for the resignation of such a member or terminate his/her membership. Appeal against such a decision may be made to the Club’s members and decided by majority vote.
7.8 It is a condition of membership that members agree to their details being held on computer to facilitate membership and handicap administration. The computer network is secure and passwordprotectedandeveryreasonableeffortismadetoprevent unauthorised access.
8. RESIGNATION / CHANGE OF MEMBERSHIP CATEGORY
8.1 Members who wish to transfer to another category of membership should apply in writing prior to the end of the membership year (31st March) for any change to apply for the following membership year (commencing 1st April).
8.2 Members may not change their category of membership during the course of a membership year or for any part year.
8.3 Members who wish to resign from the Club must submit their resignations in writing to the General Manager prior to the end of the membership year (31st March) but shall still be liable for the annual subscription for the full year to that 31st March. Failure to meet the 31st March deadline will result in a liability for payment of the full subscription for the following year.
9. CONDUCT OF MEMBERS9.1 Membersarerequiredtoconductthemselves,bothonandoff
the Club premises, in a manner which does not endanger the welfareandgoodorderoftheClub,orreflectdiscredituponit.
9.2 Members are required to observe the dress requirements on the course and in the Clubhouse, which will be determined from time to time by the Committee. Notices relating to these requirements will be displayed in the Clubhouse, locker rooms and Professional’s Shop.
9.3 Nomember,unlessgivenspecificauthority,shallreprimand,give instructions to or in any way interfere with the work of any employees of the Club in respect of their duties. Any complaint about an employee of the Club should be addressed to the General Manager in writing.
9.4 Any apparent or alleged breach of the Club Rules will be considered by the General Committee who, if they believe that such a breach has occurred, may impose a penalty as prescribed in Rule 9.6.
9.5 Before reaching any conclusions about a breach of Rules, the General Committee will give the member concerned the opportunity to give his/her account of the events in writing and/or in person. He/ she may be accompanied by a friend.
9.6 The following penalties may be imposed for breach of Club Rules:9.6.1 Immediate termination of membership or the
requirement that the member shall resign, whereupon that person shall cease to be a member of the Club, and no part of his/her subscription shall be returned.
9.6.2 Suspension from membership for a period up to 12 months as the General Committee may determine, during which period the member concerned shall not use the Club facilities in any way without the express permission of a General Committee Member, but shall remain liable to pay any subscriptions which fall due.
9.6.3 A warning, written or verbal, as to future conduct.9.6.4 A ban on representing the Club in team events for a
period not to exceed the end of the season subsequent to the imposition of the penalty.
9.7 The General Committee may require a member to attend before Committee representatives for the purpose of Rule 9.5 and/ortobenotifiedoftheimpositionofpenaltyunderRule9.6.
10. SUBSCRIPTIONS AND FEES10.1TheClub’sfinancialandmembershipyearshallrunfrom1st
April to 31st March each year.10.2 Entrance fees, annual subscription rates, storage rental fees
and green card credit levels shall be determined annually by the General Committee who shall give reasonable notice thereof to members. Details of current rates and fees will be posted on the Clubhouse notice boards.
10.3 New members elected during the course of a membership year shall pay the annual subscription pro rata for each month or part month remaining for that year.
10.4 All annual subscriptions and fees become due on 1st April each year and must be paid before the following 1st May. Any member who has not paid or arranged to utilise the monthly direct debit facility by 1st May shall be deemed to have terminated membership by default. Such a member may apply in writing to have his/her membership reinstated at the discretion of the General Committee and a membership reinstatement fee may be payable, this fee not to exceed 15% of the annual subscription.
10.5 A rental fee shall be paid annually by each member who has been allocated a locker and/or buggy storage facilities. A register of allotted lockers and storage shall be kept and any member wishing to relinquish the use of the facility shall give written notice to the General Manager and remove all property from the facility by 31st March and return the key to the General Manager, otherwise there will be a liability for rent for the ensuing year.
10.6 Lockers and storage facilities shall be allocated to members by the General Manager and must not be transferred or exchanged by one member to another.
10.7 Members who make use of the monthly direct debit facility to pay their annual fees must note that they are liable for the full year’s fees and that this is merely a payment facility; if a member cancels or defaults on his/her monthly payments, then the full outstanding balance of the year’s fees is due immediately.
10.8Allplayingmembersarerequiredtoaffiliatetothenationaland county associations, i.e. England Golf, and for gents, Nottinghamshire Union of Golf Clubs (NUGC), and for ladies, Notts County Ladies’ Golf Association (NCLGA). The annual subscriptionfortheseaffiliationswillbeshownonmembers’subscription invoices and monies collected by the Club will be forwarded to the appropriate associations.
10.9 A Green Card levy may be included on subscription invoices for all playing members aged 18 and over which will be credited to members’ Green Cards and can be used to purchase food and drinks in the Clubhouse.
11. PLAY11.1 The Club and its members will uphold and abide by the Rules
of Golf and the Rules of Amateur Status, as laid down by R & A Rules Limited. Local Rules and Rulings, as introduced by the General Committee, shall also apply; these shall be includedintheClubfixturesdiary.
11.2 The Club and its members will assist and cooperate with England Golf and will ensure they comply with the rules and regulations of the World Handicapping System, subject to any conditions imposed by England Golf, NUGC or NCLGA
11.3 The Club and its members will assist and cooperate with the England Golf, NUGC and NCLGA and abide by such Rules as laiddownfromtimetotimeinsofarastheyaffecttheClub.
12. EQUITY12.1IntheactivitiesofferedbytheClub,theClubhasadoptedthe
England Golf Generic Equity Statement and England Golf Equity and Opportunities Policy. The Club agrees to:
Support the principle and practice of equity, equality and equality of opportunity;
Challenge discrimination that is direct, indirect, intentional or unintentional;
Monitor and review practices, procedures and regulations to ensure that aims are addressed within the business of the Club;
Work with England Golf, NUGC and NCLGA to ensure that all people, irrespective of their age, gender, ability, social status, race, ethnic origin, religious belief, disability or sexual preference have a genuine and equal opportunity to participate in golf.
13. CHILD PROTECTION13.1IntheactivitiesofferedbytheClub,theClubrecognises
its responsibility to safeguard the welfare of children and young people and is committed to ensuring that all children and young people have a safe and positive experience when playing golf. The Club is committed to working with England Golf, NUGC and NCLGA to ensure the sport of golf is one withinwhichchildrenandyoungpeoplecanflourishinasafeenvironment.
14. CLUB OPENING AND LICENSING HOURS14.1 Members shall be required to observe the Clubhouse opening
hours which shall be determined by the General Committee and displayed on the notice board in the Clubhouse.
14.2Membersshallberequiredtoobservethehoursfixedinpursuance of the Licensing Act for the supply of intoxicating liquorsintheClubwhichshallbesimilarlynotifiedtomembers by the display of notices in the Clubhouse.
15. RULES15.1 The Rules of the Club may be revoked, altered or added to
only by resolution passed at an Annual or Special General MeetingofthemembersoftheClubbyanaffirmativevoteof at least two-thirds of the members present and entitled to vote. A resolution relating to the Rule in question must have been included on the agenda for the appropriate General Meeting.
Members who do not comply with Club Rules and Committee Rulings must be reported to a General Committee Member or the General Manager.
