HOW TO RATE THE CAR PARKCar parks are to be assessed by the accreditation criteria incorporated within the checklist provided.
This checklist corresponds with the self assessment checklist provided to car park owners and operators contained within the City of Melbourne Car Park Accreditation Scheme Information Pack.
The assessment and rating of the car park will be undertaken using the following criteria:
Part A: Emergency Procedures Emergency management is mandatory and carries a total score of 40 points; and Car park operators must indicate yes to both criteria in this section to participate in the
accreditation.
See the guidelines provided for further information regarding rationale and importance of these elements as priorities for all car parks.
2. Part B: Value added services
Questions 1 to 5 Each criterion carries a total of 20 points. Answering yes = 20 points Add the total of each yes to ascertain your score in this section. Transfer your points to the rating table
Questions 6 and 7: work through this section and assign relevant points
Minimal = 5 pointsGood = 10 pointsVery good = 15 pointsExcellent = 20 points

3. Part C: Customer service Part D: The Physical Environment and Amenity
a. Work through each section and assign a condition rating score of 1 to 4
1 = Minimal2 = Good3 = Very Good4 = Excellent
b. Transfer the figure assigned to each characteristic to the rating table.
Please note on the rating table that a weighting factor has been applied to each characteristic. Weighting levels are as follows:
Low = 5Medium = 10High = 15Superior = 20
c. Multiply the condition score by the weighting factor to calculate the score. Condition score level x weighting level
Total the scores for the different characteristics under each criterion.
4. Total score Total the scores for each criterion in Sections A through to D to identify the accreditation
level of your car park.
