The Mega Digital Spray Control System utilizes LIN BUS technology to operate the electrohydraulic spray control system and regulate the water pump and water discharge functions (such as spray heads, dump bar, and water cannon).

In addition to all of the features provided by the analog Electro-Hydraulic system, the DiSCS® system has built-in water pump protection features designed to prolong water pump service life: a low water shut-off safety feature and a water pump RPM ramping protection feature. The DiSCS® system is also the only one of our systems that is compatible with our ground speed sensing control system (GPS).

• Low Water Shut-off Mega DiSCS® automatically turns the water pump off when the tank reaches a low-water condition. This prevents the water pump from running in a dry sump that will over-heat shaft seals due to lack of water.

• Slow Start/Stop Protection Feature Mega DiSCS® slowly increases/decreases water pump RPMs upon pump engagement/disengagement, greatly reducing the amount of stress on the pump and drive motor.

• No-Flow Conditions The water pump is automatically shut off if there have been no water discharge functions active for over seconds. This prevents the water in the pump sump from heating up, which would cause deterioration of grease and premature bearing failure.

Reliability

DiSCS® utilizes the same Mega water pump, hydraulic motors, spray heads and electro-hydraulic controls. There are no complex modifications to the vehicle's hydraulic systems or powertrain a–in fact these interfaces do not change at all. The same durable Mega spray system components are maintained with all of the same parts supply, technical support and documentation.

Versatility

DiSCS® is adaptable to most Mega water equipment and can be easily added in the field to machines originally equipped with the base system described above. The control system can be retrofitted to many older models of water distribution equipment equipped with Mega spray systems without replacing any hardware. And, the entire system can be used with competitive water tanks as well.

WATER LEVEL SYSTEMS

All of our spray systems come with a water level sensor and at least one water level indicator. Mega offers three different water level sensors; choosing the correct one will depend upon the size of your water tank and the type of spray control system you have installed (DiSCS® vs non-DiSCS®). Contact your Mega Parts Sales or Product Support representative for assistance in choosing the right sensor.

If I need a complete spray system installed on an older Mega water tank, what information do I need to provide, and how long will it take before I receive the spray system kit?First we will need the serial number of your Mega water tank, and (if possible) pictures of the tank structure, the chassis, and the cab control system. With this information, Mega will be able to customize and bundle a spray system kit package that will upgrade what is currently on your tank. Typically our lead time from receipt of the order to shipping date is 3 to 4 weeks, depending on the configuration of the spray system and our production backlog at the time of the order.

I have an old Mega water tank with the Mega analog cab control system. Is there a smaller cab control box that I can install?Yes; the DiSCS® cab control box is much smaller and has a separate water cannon joystick box. DiSCS® can control 6 spray heads and 3 butterfly valve operated components, and offers additional water distribution modes.

Are chassis hydraulic components available for the MEGA conversion?If provided the tank and chassis serial number, we can research what components will be necessary for chassis integration and can offer most of these parts as a kit or as individual pieces. Contact Mega Product Support for more information.

How do I find out if there are any updates/upgrades for my water tank system?We are constantly improving our spray systems and products with new features and more reliable components. Contact the Mega Product Support group with your tank’s serial number to see if any updates or upgrades exist for the tank.

Does Mega offers factory training at their manufacturing facility?Yes; we can tailor a training program at the Albuquerque, New Mexico Mega manufacturing plant for any dealer or end user of Mega water distribution equipment. Contact the Mega Product Support Sales representative for information on our training programs.
