He is working on debt and equity financing instruments and is responsible for originating, structuring and executing mining investments. He is also involved in developing AfDB’s mining strategy. Sebastian joined the AfDB in 2008. Prior to joining the Bank, Sebastian worked at Bain & Company as strategy consultant, and before that in the World’s Bank legal department for project finance and co-financing. Sebastian holds a doctor degree in law from the University of Heidelberg, and an MBA from INSEAD. Since joining the AfDB in 2007, Mr. Malan has been involved in a variety of project finance deals across the continent including DRC, Ghana, Nigeria and Senegal. Prior to AfDB he worked in consulting engineering in South Africa and holds a Masters degree in civil engineering from the University of Stellenbosch and an MBA from INSEAD. Prior to joining the Bank, Ms. Fiadjoe worked at the World Bank in Washington D.C for four years. Ms. Fiadjoe holds an LL.B (hons) degree from the University of the West Indies in Barbados and an LL.M in international legal studies from American University in Washington D.C. Ms. Fiadjoe is called to the Bar in Barbados, New York and Ghana. She is currently a Vice Chairperson of the American Bar Association’s Africa Committee.
