Qn 1 (Express): My child is interested in Biology. Will the school be able to offer Biology?
If there are sufficient students (20 students or more) interested in offering in
• Biology (SPA)
• Or Science (Biology/Chemistry)
The school will consider opening up a class for this subject. A survey will be conducted in May to find out the preference of the students
Qn 2: How is the allocation of subjects done?
Merit
Based on Sec 2 Subject overall results
• students who perform better will have priority (rank first) over those who perform less well
Choice
• 1st choice will be considered if your results meet the subject criteria
Vacancy
• Take-up rate: a subject will not be offered if the take-up rate is not met
• Availability of teachers: a subject will have a maximum class size (of 40) if many students opt for it. Coursework subjects e.g.: D&T and F&N will have a maximum class size of 20.
