2 Variants and description of the IVIS Voltage Detecting System

2.3 Technical data for remote signalling and supply cables of the IVIS-F Voltage Detecting System

Make sure that wiring complies with the switchgear-specific circuit diagram.

■ Rated supply voltage: 24 V DC (+15 %/–15 %) ■ max. power consumption: 60 mA ■ red cable: positive pole ■ brown cable: ground

In case of the IVIS-F (with remote signalling), the rated supply voltage ground (brown cable) is short-circuited with the switchgear ground. If this effect is not desi-red, the rated supply voltage must be isolated.

■ Violet /pink cable: NO contact for state of voltage; contact closes in case of zero voltage

■ Orange / yellow cable: NO contact for system verification; contact closes if the system is working correctly.

■ Rated power (resistive): 5 A at 250 V AC / 30 V DC ■ max. switching capacity: 1250 VA /150 W ■ max. switching voltage: 250 V AC / 220 V DC (0.4 A)

If the rated voltage differs from 24 V DC, galvanically separated voltage transformers are available. (Fig. 4).

■ Input voltage ranges: 48 up to 230 V DC / 230 V AC ■ Output voltage: 24 V DC

A voltage transformer is capable of supplying - depending on the model in question - max. 15 IVIS displays with remote-signalling contacts..Installation in the low-voltage cabinet by snap fasteners on top hat rail (IEC 60715). For attachment and connection, please refer to the Technical manual and the inscription on the voltage transformer.

3 Installation of the IVIS Voltage Detecting System in air-insulated panels

3.1 Components of the IVIS Voltage Detecting SystemThe IVIS Voltage Detecting System is designed for medium-voltage panels for in-door installation. The components for optimum design of the IVIS Voltage Detecting System in air-insulated panels are specified in Table 4 , Chapter 6, page 22.Screws, securing elements and nuts depend on the type of installation in the panel and are not specified in this Manual. In case of difficulties or questions, please contact the manufacturer.

The capacitive divider-insulators (Fig. 5) are available in different configurations and always feature a screw-fastened, short connecting cable. Data sheets for the divider-insulators can be provided on request.

3 Installation of the IVIS Voltage Detecting System in air-insulated panels

1. Position the specified capacitive divider-insulators in the desired location in the panel and screw-fasten them to a metal base (Fig. 7, page 11). The base depends on the arrangement in the panel and must be provided with bore-holes for attachment of the divider-insulator, the capacitive connection and the earthing jumper of the surge arrester.

2. Connect the high-voltage end of the divider-insulator to the high-voltage cables, the conductor bars in the cable connection compartment, or the busbar.

3. Plug the connector of the connecting cable onto the appropriate connecting cable of the divider-insulator, observing the colour codes.

Important:Observe the colour codes of the connecting cable when connecting it to the divider-insulators and the IVIS display unit

4. Screw-fasten the earthing jumper to the metal base. The base must be electri-cally connected to the switchgear earthing (e. g. via the metal panel rack).

5. The cable connecting the capacitive divider-insulator to the IVIS display unit is generally routed in the longitudinal and traverse braces in the panel or attached to partitions using self-adhesive plates and cable clamps. Routing depends on the installation location of the IVIS display unit on the switchgear front (Fig. 7, page 11).

6. Reel up any excessive length of connecting cable and attach it in the panel. The connecting cables are designed for the IVIS display unit and must not be altered.

Installation of the IVIS display unit is described in Chapter 4 as of page 13.

3.3 Functional test of the IVIS/-F display unit The details regarding the remote signalling contacts must be observed for the func-tional test of the IVIS-F display unit (see Chapter 3 “IVIS-F” in the Operating Manual AGS 531751-01).

5 Replacement of an IVIS/-F display unit

1. Unscrew the ground cable (Fig. 19, Pos. 1) (IVIS-F) or the two ground cables (IVIS).

2. Only necessary for IVIS-F: Disconnect all remote signalling and supply cables from the IVIS-F display unit (2) in the low-voltage cabinet. Pull the cables back to the display unit.

3. Unscrew the fasteners to the left and right (pos. 3).4. Cut off the cable for connection to the capacitive measuring connector (L1-L3)

directly on the rear of the device (Fig. 20).
