Hardware

0The iMac/keyboard & mouse/Camera/SD card reader.

The iMac is a range of all-in-one Macintosh desktop computers designed and built by Apple Inc. It has been the primary part of Apple's consumer desktop offerings since its debut in August 1998 (shipped; introduced June 1998), and has evolved through six distinct forms.

Hardware - iMac

0 As you can see the iMac its self is a very complex machine which makes hard to adapt for someone like I who only started using iMacs. It was hard to use but once I got used to it, it was quite pleasant. Comparing to the computers that I have previously used I found this better because it heard better specs lead to improved performance; brilliant wide-screen display; AirPort and Bluetooth are both standard features.

Hardware – Keyboard & Mouse

0The keyboard and mouse was very different from the traditional ones except that apple adds a bit of their own design onto it. The most obvious change was the command key, and in exchange it doesn't’t have the print screen key but it made it up because using the command key+shift+4, you’re able to draw a box and print the section you want, this in my opinion was so much better.

Hardware - Mouse

0The mouse was very different by far, in terms of hardware the mouse was easily noticeable because of its new look. Instead of having two buttons it had a single one with a small sphere scroller button. In the past you had to click the right button to get a variety of options including copy and paste,

Hardware – Camera 0The Nikon D3100 is an entry-level digital SLR camera

boasting a newly designed 14-megapixel DX format sensor, a quick-access Live View mode, one-touch Full HD video recording with autofocus, plus an interactive Guide mode, a sensor dust buster and an 11-point autofocus module. With a sensitivity range of ISO 100-3,200, expandable to ISO 12,800, the Nikon D3100 is well suited to most lighting conditions.

Hardware – SD card reader

0 SD card reader was the tool used to transfer the pictures from the camera to the iMacs, I’m sure it is used for other purposes but for now that’s what I was using it for. You take the SD card from the camera hen you insert it into the card reader which in my opinion just seemed like a bigger version a Memory card, and the way it worked was quite similar.

Hardware- Lighting & Backdrop

0During the photo-shoot we had a choice, to either use the school camera along with the lighting and the backdrop. Some people decided to use their phones at their time off school but sense I wanted my photos to be of the highest quality I decided to give up a bit of my time and took my pictures using the best tools I could get my hands on which were the school’s.

Software

0Photoshop/ InDesign/ Internet(safari)/ word press/ PowerPoint/ word document/ slide share.

These are all the programs that we got to use throughout the course, The most important ones were probably Photoshop & InDesign, this is because they were the software's we used while constructing the magazine. The second most important software was word press we used as notebook in other words its where we stored all our course work.

Software – Photoshop & InDesign

0 Like I mentioned at the beginning these two software were both crucial for my course work, this really got me expand my knowledge on these softwares. Furthermore I have learnt about lots of new editing skills using the programs, Photoshop using tools such as the magic wand tool and magic eraser. Learning how to edit images has proved very useful in this project and it will also help me in the future. As well as learning to edit images, using new programmes has given me knowledge on how to construct a magazine.

Software – Safari & Wordpress

0 Safari was also useful during my course work because I used it to search on already existing softwares which helped better understand conventions, additionally I used on doing an general knowledge relating to my work. Wordpress was just as useful mostly because is a good website in general, I never used it it before but once I started using it I find it at all that difficult it was very simple to adapt to, and again I'm sure this sort of knowledge will be very useful in the future.

Software –PowerPoint/slideshare

0 PowerPoint was often, I didn't’t get to use it as much as I’d hoped but that’s because I was too busy learning how to use other softwares. I really enjoy using PowerPoint because you get to present your project both text wise and visually, they weren't that much to learn sense I already knew how to use it and it wasn’t that different on iMacs. Slideshare was really nice too sense it went so well with PowerPoint. The cool thing about slidesahre was instead of using a link to a PowerPoint it gives an Embed code which then if used correctly allows people to view the PowerPoint without living the site like you're doing now.
