COLOUR

▸ Cruella from 101 Dalmatians has a costume style of mostly black and red. These colours may suggest to the audience that her character is sinister. The colour red might symbolises blood (from her intent to kill the dalmatians to make a fur coat) and the colour black may symbolise death or darkness she exudes as part of her character. Her skin colour is a shade of purple which indicates to the audience that she is a villain.

▸ Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty is mainly presented in the colours green and purple. This symbolises sinister and magical, regal and mysterious. The grey and black background shows darkness and old age. Black in this case could symbolise master, fear, evil and unhappiness in the background.

▸ Cinderella is wearing a silver dress. Silver could relate to her been modern, careful, focused, elegant. Silver is a respectful and organised colour. These references could tell a lot about her characteristics.

LIGHTING

‣Intrigue Lighting By placing a single back light high above and between the two talents, you create yet another mood. Again the mood of loneliness or danger can be portrayed. The single light acts like a street light in some lonely corner of the world.

‣The set is dark, this could imply a sinister or negative mood. Lighting from above creates a mood symbolising religion( something greater ).

‣The lighting shows a sense of mystery because the image is portrayed as gloomy.

LIGHTING

▸ The lighting implies a sense os seriousness as it is coming through of the blinds which lights up dark areas of the room

▸ On the left side of the image it is darker than the rest of the picture. It implies anger or negativity. On the other hand the right side of the room is lit up. The character is brightened which implies a goddess image.

▸ Both lighting represents the character well. It symbolises the way they want to be portrayed in the scene. They both look like bold individuals.
