WELCOMEMotor Sport has always bucked the trend, ever since it first hit the news stands way back in 1924 – and the magazine that never pulls its punches still holds true to the qualities that made it famous. Motor Sport remains definitive, incisive, unique, striving to entertain and inform in a spirit of true independence. There was nothing quite like it in the past, and that’s still true today.

The magazine is back to its best and the word is spreading. In the past three years circulation has increased by an impressive 27 per cent to 33,818* – some achievement in a declining market. Why? Because of our unrivalled stories from motor racing’s history, balanced by the most authoritative, outspoken and thought-provoking coverage of the modern sport, including of course Formula 1. You only have to read our letters pages and blog responses on our burgeoning website to catch the buzz we are creating.

And the development continues. We are expanding our road car coverage to bring our readers more tests, features and opinions on the market’s best models, courtesy of the most respected voice in the industry, Andrew Frankel. Once again, the magazine with the famous green masthead is setting the standard to which others aspire.

Motor Sport is the most recognised motor racing magazine in the world, with its iconic green masthead and wealth of in-depth editorial generated by an elite team of globally-recognised journalists – headed by our Editor-in-Chief, Nigel Roebuck.

We are continuing our investment in this illustrious heritage title to make Motor Sport the most attractive and relevant magazine brand available to the widest possible audience, both in the UK and on a global stage, for many years to come.

“I really appreciate the integrity of Motor Sport. There’s so much to read and when you’ve finished it you find you don’t throw Motor Sport away, as you do with so many other magazines”

The Motor Sport website continues to gather pace and interest. What started off as a space for blogs has now become one of the places for comment and discussion on modern and historic racing. Our recent addition of audio podcasts has been a great success, with the team securing top-rated guests such as 1979 Formula 1 World Champion Jody Scheckter, five-time Grand Prix winner John Watson, Williams F1 director of engineering Patrick Head, 1996 F1 World Champion Damon Hill, sporting great Mario Andretti and, most recently, Red Bull team principal Christian Horner. The podcasts are usually recorded in our Chelsea offices each month and the relaxed atmosphere means the team gets to hear some of the greatest – and most hilarious – stories from racing’s past, as well as discussing current issues. Since the website was revamped in February 2008, we have had over half a million visitors and nearly 2,000,000 page impressions. In February 2008 there were 7000 visitors; in February 2010 this had risen to more than 30,000. Since the audio podcasts were launched in June 2009 over 20,000 people have listened to them. This isn’t taking into account the traffic we get on iTunes, where the audio podcasts are also featured.
