Aims and Objectives

A 28 Minute Live Radio Show Introducing the world of A Cappella

•To give an insight into A Cappella – what it is, where it originated from, who does it etc?

•To develop an interactive style – our presenters will be getting involved, having a go at various types of A Cappella and finding out how other people can get involved.

•To highlight and explore some of the more unusual forms of A Cappella – e.g. throat singing, which may be unusual and new to people, and will further their interests in the subject.

•To use a wide range of interviews, recordings, and created jingles/beds to give a professional sounding show, that both develops an interest in the subject, and appeals to our listeners.

•What are the Legal/Ethical Implications?

•Timetable of Production

Research of Content and Treatment• Research Summary – all of the facts and figures that we have gained have been from

reliable, and reputable sources.

Rajar Statistics Q4 2010:

90.5% of UK population tune in to radio every week (Rajar, Online, 2011)

Why are these figures relevant – and how will listeners engage with this?

Where would this Show fit in?

• Siren FM – a broad and diverse range of shows for the 9-25 age range

• Our show matter would typically appeal to an older audience – our challenge is to make this appeal to a younger audience

City Vibe – news programme produced by and for young people.

New Wave – produced by Young People, for young people – showcasing local talent.

The challenge of making our Show appeal to a younger audience.

Typically – a show covering the history of a musical style etc. would not appeal to a younger audience, but this can be overcome with suitable treatment and content.

•Our presenters will be energetic, lively, and enthusiastic

•Creative treatment; jingles, beds, and recordings

•We will connect with our listeners in a range of ways; Facebook, Twitter and our Website
