Chapter 1:A New Park
There is a new park in the neighborhood.
The children will play together at the park
today. They will have fun.

Then they slide down inside the tunnel.
Andrew and Jasmine climb and play on the
climbing bars.

The children sit together on the park bench
after they play. It is a good place to rest.

Chapter 2:Planning theMini Park
Jasmine has a great idea. They can build a
mini-park. They can make a small park that
looks like the real park! The mini-park will fit
on a table and be made of things they haveat home.

Everyone will collect things from their
homes for the mini-park. Then they will meet
at Andrews home, and they will build the
mini-park there.

Chapter 3:Searching
Jenny finds some empty paper rolls at her
home. They look like the tunnel slides at the
new park. Jenny and Jasmine had fun playing
on the tunnel slides at the park.

The paper rolls are cylinders, and the
tunnel slides are cylinders too. Jenny brings
the paper rolls to Andrews home. She will
build a tunnel slide for the mini-park they aremaking together.

Luis looks in his toy box. In with all the
toys, he finds a building block that is shaped
like the play house at the park.

The building block is a pyramid. The play
house has a pyramid too. Luis brings the
building block to Andrews home.

Maddie finds a table tennis ball in the
garage. She and Sam played with a red ball at
the park. The table tennis ball is a small ball,
and it is a sphere. The red ball at the park isa sphere too.

Maddie puts the table tennis ball in her
pocket. She brings it to Andrews home. They
can put it in the mini-park like the red ball
they played with in the new park.

park. He wants to find something that has
the same shape as the building. He finds an
empty tissue box.

The empty tissue box is a cube. The park
building is a cube too. Sam thinks the tissue
box will be perfect to make the building for
the mini-park.

The snack stand had a cone on the roof.
Jasmine wants to find something the same
shape as that cone.

She finds a colorful party hat. The party
hat is a cone. It looks like the cone on the
roof of the snack stand. Jasmine brings the
party hat to Andrews home.

At the park, the children sat on a bench
to rest and talk. It was a good place to rest
after playing. The park bench is a rectangular
prism.

Andrew finds an empty shoebox. The
shoebox is a rectangular prism. He will use
the shoebox for the bench in the mini-park.
Then the mini-park will have a park bench!

Chapter 4:Time to Build!
Soon the children arrive at Andrews home
carrying the things they found for the
mini-park. Andrew places a big poster board
on the table. He finds crayons, scissors, glue,and tape for everyone to use.

The children are very excited. They share
with each other the things they have found.
Now they have everything they need to build
the mini-park.
