Along with our sixth grade teachers, physical education teachers and our anti-bullying specialist and coordinators, Mrs. Gina Bradley and Mr. Joe Coladarci, the students were educated on the dangers associated with bullying other students as well as how to report being a victim of bullying. Parents are encouraged to speak to their children about how bullying accusations can go from appearing harmless to something far more serious. This summit also capped off School Violence Awareness Week. This past Wednesday was a beautiful fall day at McKeown and also the day of our annual PTA pumpkin patch. Students selected pumpkins to take home and decorate in time for Halloween. Students enjoyed this event very much and we appreciate our PTA parents for hosting it. Our PTA met on Monday night to discuss year activities. We hope to see a lot of parent involvement throughout the year during these events. Enjoy the beautiful fall weather and weekend ahead! Coladarci, the students were educated on the dangers associated with bullying other students as well as how to report
being a victim of bullying. Parents are encouraged to speak to their children about how bullying accusations can go from
appearing harmless to something far more serious. This summit also capped off School Violence Awareness Week.

FROM THE DESK OF A SECOND GRADE TEACHER:
Our 2nd graders have been busy becoming Plant Scientists! On Tuesday, we went to the Agricultural Learning Center and completed 6 different stations to expand our understanding of plants and pollination. The fan favorite was the worm station, where groups were able to learn all about earthworms or night crawlers by touching live worms! Other stations ranged from a germination station to learning about all about pollinators. 2nd graders then used this new information about pollinators to create a “Super Insect” of their own to move pollen and carry seeds. We are looking forward to testing our “Super Insects” soon!
DISTANCE: 7th and 8th grade races are Approx. 1.5 miles; 6 grade and under races are 1.0 mile. The courses are clearly marked and there will be marshals on the course to guide
runners. If the team arrives at the starting line before 3:30, there will be guides to walk the course.

PARKING is a nightmare due to the building of solar panels that has eliminated some school parking lots. Encourage all your parents to park in the furthest lot in back of the Hampton Municipal Building, affectionately known as “The Pit.” Parking there is actually closer than any lot at the school. Race starts in the “Pit” QUESTIONS: Contact Danielle Tooker at the above phone or email.
