MONTGOMERY 2018 HOTEL INFORMATION:

Headquarters Hotel will be the Hyatt House/Plymouth Meeting. This hotel is 5 minutes from the Montgomery County Show, 45 minutes from Hatboro, 45 minutes from Devon and 1 ½ hours from the Agility & Obedience venues. All rooms are suites with a living area which includes a sleeper sofa and fully equipped kitchen. Single bedroom suite w/one bed $149/night, Single bedroom suite w/two double beds $149 per night and Two-bedroom suites are $189 per night. A few “trio” suites (two-bedroom suites with two beds in one of the bedrooms – total 3 beds) are available at $199/night. There is a non-refundable pet fee of $50/suite. Reservation instructions are listed on the member document page on the ATCA website. Unsold rooms will be released on September 3rd, 2018. Reservation requests received after the cut-off date will be based on availability at the Hotel’s prevailing rates. Cancellation policy: Cancellations must be made 24 hours prior to arrival. Any cancellations within 24 hours of arrival or no-shows will be subject to a charge of one-night room and tax.

Homewood Suites by Hilton – 200 Lee Drive, Plymouth Meeting, PA. Telephone: 610-828-9600. This hotel is 3.4 miles from the Host Hotel and about a 9-minute drive. Dogs allowed with a pet fee of $25/night or $150 total for over 5 nights.

Residence Inn by Marriot - 191 Washington St., Conshohocken, PA. Telephone: 610-828- 8800. This hotel is 7.8 miles from the Host Hotel and about a 15-minute drive. Dogs allowed with a pet fee of $125/stay.

Double Tree Suites – 640 Fountain Road, Plymouth Meeting, PA. Telephone: 610-834- 8300. This hotel is 2 miles from the Host Hotel and about a 6-minute drive. No dogs allowed.

Hotels Close to Agility, Obedience and Rally Site:

Hampton Inn & Suites Hershey – 749 E. Chocolate Ave., Hershey, PA. Telephone: 717-533- 8400. This hotel is 4.5 miles from the Agility and Obedience Site and about a 10-minute drive. No pet fees. Dogs allowed on first floor only.

Red Lion Inn & Suites Hershey – 1 Sipe Ave., Hershey, PA. Telephone: 717-533- 5665. This hotel is 4.5 miles from the Agility and Obedience and about a 14-minute drive. Pet fee- $15/one-time fee. Residence Inn by Marriott Harrisburg Hershey – 4480 Lewis Road, Harrisburg, PA. Telephone: 717-5611900. This hotel is 14 miles from the Agility and Obedience Site and about a 29-minute drive. Pet fee of $100/stay.

MCKC FUNDRAISING The Auction during the Banquet on Friday is a major source of funding for Montgomery activities and needs your help. All your donations are so appreciated! This year’s Auction Coordinators are Linda Baake Jarvis and Maeve Gagnon. Contact Linda (telephone 252-637-3575); e-mail at [email protected] or Maeve (678-5918720); e-mail at [email protected]. Items may be shipped to the Headquarters Hotel. They must be clearly marked: Hold for ATCA - Linda Jarvis and shipped to: Hyatt House/Plymouth Meeting, 501 East Germantown Pike, East Norriton, PA 19401. They should be shipped to arrive no earlier than September 28th. Auction items may also be brought with you to Montgomery. Whichever you choose, please contact Linda or Maeve so that they can plan on the item and get the description for the Auction. The Final Deadline for donating items is October 4th, 2018 and must be in Linda’s or Maeve’s hands on that date. Any items received after that deadline will be held for the next year. An Auction Donation form is on page 5 of the insert.

A Fine Arts Raffle will be held this year. Tickets will be sold prior to and during Montgomery week, with the drawing taking place at the lunch break at Montgomery on Sunday. Each raffle item will be in a separate drawing, so you can choose which raffle item you want. This year’s Auction Coordinators are Lisa Berglin and Margie Sinex. All Terrier Agility Trials: The indoor soccer facility in Palmyra, PA will be the site of the Montgomery Terrier Agility Cluster October 1st – October 4th. In addition, there will be all breed Agility Trials at the same site on Saturday, September 29th and Sunday, September 30. This year’s trial secretary is Scores ‘N More (www.scoresnmore.com). There are many Terrier friendly vendors along with plenty of free parking at the “In the Net” venue so come on out and cheer on the Airedales!

ATCA Specialty Obedience and Rally Trials The indoor soccer facility in Palmyra, PA “In the Net” (www.inthenet.com) will feature ATCA Specialty Obedience and Rally Trials on Tuesday, October 2nd. This year’s judge for the ATCA Obedience and Rally is Pat Hess. The Trial will include the regular titling obedience classes plus Beginner Novice A and B, Graduate Novice, Graduate Open and Versatility. There will be Obedience and Rally Practice Ring time on Monday, October 1st. Entries at ringside will be from 11:30 am until 1:00 pm with timed ring practice from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm. The charge for ring time is $10 for five minutes and $15 for ten minutes. This year’s Trial Secretary is Scores ‘N More (www.scoresnmore.com).

All breed Obedience will be held at both the Hatboro shows.

Barn Hunt Barn Hunt will be held at the “Kimberton Fairgrounds on Wednesday, October 3rd and Thursday, October 4th. This event is sponsored by the West Highland White Terrier Club of America. More information is available at www.barnhunt.com.

Lure Coursing Coursing Ability Tests will be held at the “In the Net” grounds on Wednesday, October 3rd and Thursday, October 4th.

ATCA Breeders Education Seminar; Wednesday 7-9 PM “Building a Trust for Your Pet” Presented by Attorney Debra Vey Voda-Hamilton of Hamilton Law and Mediation, PLLC of Michigan. Ms. Hamilton is a breeder of Irish Setters and active in the National Club as Chair of Breeders Education. She is a professor and author on pet trust and mediation to resolve conflict regarding animals.Ms. Hamilton’s presentation will cover instructing your attorney on the specifics of building a trust in times of your incapacitation, divorce or death. Attendees will leave with worksheets with everything needed to be included in your dog’s trust. There will be time for questions following the presentation.

International Guests The Montgomery County Kennel will have an overseas visitors’ center at its show on Sunday, October 7th, open from 8 AM until 4:30 PM. There will be an AKC education exhibit featuring breed standards, information on registering foreign dogs and other materials

Headquarters Hotel ~ Hyatt House/Plymouth Meeting. 501 East Germantown Pike, East Norriton PA. Phone: (610) 313- 9990 From Philadelphia Airport (Allow 40 minutes driving time - 24 miles) Follow the exit signs and get on I-95 South Merge onto I-476 north (the Blue Route) via exit 7 toward Plymouth Meeting Take exit 20 (Germantown Pike West) toward Pennsylvania Turnpike/I-276 West/I-276 W (exit 333) Take slight right onto West Germantown Pike. Travel for 2 miles, then Turn right onto Arch Road. Hyatt House /Plymouth Meeting is immediately on the left. From Pennsylvania Turnpike I-276 (Devon show site) Take exit 333 for Norristown. After paying toll, follow the signs for Plymouth Road. Turn Left onto Plymouth Road. Turn Right on to Germantown Pike. Travel for 2 miles to Arch Road. The Hyatt House/Plymouth Meeting will be on your right.

In the Net, 798 Airport Rd, Palmyra, PA 17078. (about 1.5 hours from the HQ hotel) At Arch Road and East Germantown Pike, left onto East Germantown Pike for 2.2 miles Follow the signs to Pennsylvania Turnpike West (I 270) Take the Pennsylvania Turnpike I 276 West (becomes I7 6 at exit 326) Exit 266 (Lebanon Lancaster) and follow signs to PA Route 72 North (Lebanon RD) for about 2 miles Merge onto Route 322 West for about 8 miles Turn Right onto PA Route 117 North (S Forge RD) for .7 miles Turn right on Airport Road at the intersection at Reigle’s Airport In The Net is located on your RIGHT less than a mile away from Reigle’s Airport.

Kimberton Fairgrounds (Barn Hunt), 2276 Kimberton Rd., Phoenixville, PA 19460 (about 1 hour from HQ hotel) At Arch Road and East Germantown Pike, left onto East Germantown Pike for 2.2 miles. Follow the signs to Pennsylvania Turnpike West (I-276) Take the Pennsylvania Turnpike/I-276 West (becomes I-76 at exit 326) to Exit 312, Route 100 Downington/Pottstown Left (South) onto Pottstown Pike (Route 100) and go 0.8 miles to Route 113, Uwchlan Avenue. Left onto Route 113 North and go 7.1 miles to the blinking yellow light; Left into the Kimberton Fairgrounds.

Hatboro Show Site: Hatboro Show Site: 576 Penns Park Rd., Wrightstown, PA 18940 (1 hour from HQ hotel) At Arch Road and East Germantown Pike, left onto East Germantown Pike for 2.2 miles. Follow the signs to Pennsylvania Turnpike East (I-276). Proceed on I-276 to exit 351 (Route 1). Take Route 1 North (follow the Main Route 1, not Business Route 1) to Route 413 North. Follow 413 north; it winds and meanders through Langhorne, Newtown, and Wrightstown. Look for the Friends Meeting House on left. Take the next left, Penn’s Park Road. Showground is about ¼ mile on left.

Devon Show Site: Route 100, Ludwig’s Center, PA (About 45 minutes’ driving time from the HQ hotel) At Arch Road and East Germantown Pike, left onto East Germantown Pike for 2.2 miles. Follow the signs to Pennsylvania Turnpike West (I-276) Take the Turnpike/I-276 West (becomes I-76 at exit 326) to Exit 312, Rout 100 Downington/Pottstown. Turn right (north) onto Pottstown Pike/Route 100. Go 4.4 miles to Ludwig’s Corner Show Grounds. The entrance to the show grounds is on the left.

Montgomery County Show Site: Montgomery County Community College, 340 Dekalb Pike, Blue Bell ATCA National Specialty and Sweepstakes ~ Allow 10 minutes driving time from the headquarters hotel At Arch Road and East Germantown Pike turn right onto East Germantown Pike (north). Turn right onto DeKalb Pike/US 202). Continue to follow US-202. Look for the college signs, 1/4 mile north of Route 73.

ATCA Annual Meeting/Banquet & Auction The Empress Room, St. Helena Church, 1489 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell, PA 19422 (5 minutes from HQ hotel) At Arch Road and East Germantown Pike, turn right (southwest) onto East Germantown Pike to DeKalb Pike (Route 202 north). Continue to follow US-202 N. The church will be on the left.

Annual Banquet “The Race is On” The theme for this year’s annual banquet and auction,” The Race is On”. Dinner will be served buffet style at the

Empress Room, the site of our banquet for the past few years. The price for the banquet is $45/per person for reservations postmarked by September 24th. Reservations sent in after the deadline will be charged $55/per

person and availability cannot be guaranteed

DEADLINE: August 15, 2018 Montgomery County Kennel Club - Sun., Oct. 7 ATCA National Specialty and Sweepstakes ADVERTISING RATES Full Page — $70 ($80 after Aug. 15) Each Additional Page — $50 ($60 after Aug. 15) (must be from the same advertiser and submitted at the same time) Half Page — $40 ($50 after Aug. 15) 2-Line Booster ad — $20 ($30 after Aug. 15) Each Photo or image — $10 per use (price applies even if same photo or image is used more than once in the layout)

TO PLACE your advertising order, please complete the appropriate form on the facing page and send it with your typed or clearly printed advertising copy, photos/images and layout information or your pre-composed, camera ready ad to the person specified on the form. All orders must be accompanied by payment — a personal check payable to ATCA or a PayPal receipt of payment made to [email protected]. (Please use the PayPal message box to indicate you are paying for catalog advertising. Add 5% to the total for using this method of payment.)

The deadline for all materials to be received is August 15. If your materials will arrive after that date, please remit the higher rate indicated above. The absolute deadline for all advertising material is August 23. No ads will be accepted after that date.

For best results, send original photographs; the quality of any other photos cannot be guaranteed, and you may be disappointed with the results. If you do not want to use the entire photo, please note your cropping instructions; otherwise photos may be cropped to place emphasis on the dog. All photos will be returned to you; be sure to label all photos on the back with your name and return address.

The cost for each photo or image is $10 per use, irrespective of how many times that same photo or image is used in the layout. This is a charge imposed by the printer.

All ads will be composed by ad chair Leslie Apple. You will have final approval rights before the ad is forwarded to the printer. Please include an SASE for quick return of any mailed ad materials.

You can support your club if you are not placing a display ad! How about running a Booster Listing in the catalog?

2018 ATCA FINE ARTS Raffle

The ATCA Fine Arts Raffle is a wonderful way to support your national club. Many ATCA Members and Airedale Lovers worldwide have donated fabulous items over the years and 2018 is no exception. Besides the chance to win a treasure, remember that without your generous support the ATCA would not be able to host many of the wonderful diverse events that this breed deserves. Items will be available for viewing and tickets will be sold throughout the Montgomery County weekend.
