The company, which employs over 400 staff is currently involved in over 20 frameworks and partnering arrangements with local authorities and independent housing associations to complete home refurbishments. The requirement Breyer needed a reliable and established operator to provide waste management services to facilitate its refurbishment of housing stock managed by Clarion Housing in Bromley, South East London. Replacements of kitchens, bathrooms and some external elements of tenanted properties generate considerable quantities of mixed construction wastes that need to be collected on-site and processed in a sustainable manner. Timeliness of skip collections/replacements and recycling rates are key factors. Our solution With space unavailable in residential locations to pre-sort wastes into different material streams on-site McGrath deliver 12-yard and 14-yard skips to allow mixed construction wastes can be collected. Separate wheelie bins are provided for plasterboard waste. We provide a responsive service for collections/replacement of skips - typically next-day or sometime same-day following a request by Breyer's site team. Digital consignment notes are emailed to the client upon receipt of the consignment at our Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) in Barking. Comprehensive post-segregation systems sort the consignments into individual material streams at our MRF. Our bespoke integrated facility combines mechanical, manual and magnetic techniques to generate discrete stocks of concrete/ hardcore, timber, plastics, metals, glass etc which are either recycled on-site or prepared for onward transportation to specialist suppliers for re-processing into new material feedstock. Detailed online monthly reports provide Breyer with an inventory of transactions, tonnages of wastes collected, recycling rates and an overall carbon footprint for the trans- portation and recycling of the materials.
