• To find out who are the most widely known mobsters among MCC’s students and faculty.

• To see if MCC’s students and faculty know where those mobsters are now.

• To find out if MCC’s students and faculty think that any mobsters still exist.

• Aged from 18 to 57

The 4th Most Widely Known Mobster

Joseph “Joe Bananas” Bonanno

General Information

• Listed on 3 surveys (13.0 %)

• Born on January 18, 1905 in Sicily, Italy

• Mob Boss in New York from 1931 to 1968

• Wrote his autobiography, A Man of Honor, in 1983

• Currently 97 years old and living in Tuscon, Arizona

Jimmy Hoffa

General Information

• Listed on 4 surveys (17.4 %)

• Born on February 14, 1913 in Brazil, Indiana

• Most powerful Teamster Boss of all time

• Disappeared on July 30, 1975

• Presumed dead

John Gotti

General Information

• Responsible for the Valentine’s Day Massacre in 1929

• Convicted of tax evasion on October 18, 1931

• Died on January 25, 1947 of complications from syphilis

• Thirteen people listed Capone as a mobster they knew

• Eleven thought that Capone was dead

• According to 100% of the MCC’s students and faculty who were surveyed, mobsters do still exist
