The McCarthy Center Mentor Program pairsstudents with career professionals for mentorshipand networking. Through informationalinterviews, job shadowing, résumé critiques, andcareer discussions, students gain awareness of theavenues for success.

The Eugene J.McCarthy Residency
The McCarthy Residency annually showcasesthe work of a distinguished person in publicservice, policy, or politics through an on-campus residency. Past residents have includedDr. Paul Heer, Sean Kershaw, Kathleen HallJamieson '64, Senator Dave Durenberger '55,amd John Chromy '64.
Study tours bring students face-to-face withkey professionals and organizations working oncurrent policy issues. Past study tours visited Washington, D.C., Chicago, New York City, theTwin Cities, and Minnesota's Iron Range.
Endowed professorships mark high academicquality and honor a university's mostesteemed scholars. The McCarthy Center ishome to two endowed professorships: TheEdward L. Henry Professorship is held by Dr.Matt Lindstrom and the Joseph P. Farry Professorship is held by Dr. Christi Siver.

John Brandl ScholarsThe John Brandl Scholars program celebratesDr. Brandl '59, a legislature and distinguishedProfessor of Economics and Political Science at CSB/SJU. His lifelong commitment tomentorship and scholarship in highereducation, public policy, and politics led to anendowment that funds summer public policyinternships. Ranging from local to internationalpolicy arenas, these reflect Dr. Brandl'sdistinctive career and CSB/SJU's commitmentto ethical leadership and the common good.
