MCC Foundation Scholarship Facts

• In 2017, the MCC Foundation awarded close to $65,000 to students during this application process.

• There are over 40 scholarships available with awards between $500-$5000.

• A variety of scholarships are offered. Many are based on major or program of study, but there are awards related to a student’s city/town of residence, involvement in community service, or interest in study abroad.

• Award criteria varies, but in general, most awards require a 3.0 GPA and that the applicant has completed 9 credits at MCC by the end of the fall 2017 semester.

Scholarships and Financial Aid

• You may still receive a scholarship even if you receive Financial Aid.

• Applications from students who receive Financial Aid will be vetted through the MCC Financial Aid Office.

• If you have any questions on your Financial Aid package, please contact the MCC Financial Aid Office at: 978-656-3242 for Lowell or 781-280-3650 for Bedford.

Tips for Applying

• Use your MCC A # and password to login to the application.

• A Dashboard Screen and status prompts will guide you through your application.

• You will be applied to all scholarships for which you meet the criteria with the one application.

• You may work on your application in stages.

Application Sections

One Faculty Recommendation Required

Requested via email through the system.

Application Essay

To Submit- Make sure the status of all sections reads “Completed.”Click “Submit Application” on bottom right.

Completion Status Appears on the Dashboard.Additional Items requiring completion will appear in a Yellow Box.

The Gray box will show the number of Applied Scholarships.

Note: Some awards will require Follow-Up Items – Your Dashboard will tell you if you have Follow-Up items to complete. To Complete Follow –ups, click on yellow button, complete the items, and Resubmit the application.

Award Timeline

•Applicants will be notified in early February 2018 of Award decisions.

•Award Recipients must attend the Scholarship Award Ceremony on March 6, 2018 at 3:30pm at the Bedford Campus Center to receive the scholarship award.

Award Disbursement

• Scholarship awards are applied to Spring 2018 semester tuition and awarded for tuition, fees, and other eligible costs.

• The MCC Foundation makes the award directly to the recipient’s MCC Student Account.
