Sunshine Group of Institutions heartily congratulates Dr. Alpesh Gajera for his

remarkable achievement as being conferred with PhD in management stream from

Gujarat Technological University on 1st Dec. 2016. The thesis on “A comparative

study on financial performance of private and public sector banks with special

reference to affecting factors and their impact on performance indicators” was

prepared by Dr. Alpesh Gajera under the guidance of Dr. Vijay Pithadia.

Ms. Rashmi Gandhi, Assistant Professor at Faculty of MCA has published a

research paper on “Audio Encryption with AES and Blowfish”,Volume 4,

Issue XI, November 2016IC Value: 13.98 ISSN: 2321-9653 in International

Journal for Research in Applied Science & Engineering Technology

(IJRASET). She is being invited as a Theme Speaker for delivering expert

lecture on “Cyber Security” at the Institute of Electronics and

Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) Rajkot on 6th of November 2016.

Mr. Hemen Kalaria, Assistant Professor, from Faculty of MBA attended

One Day “Faculty Development Programme on Using Blended

MOOCs in the Classroom” on 15th

October 2016 at IIT Delhi

organized by IIM Bangalore. Key Speakers of FDP were Professor PD

Jose, Professor Sushil Vachani and Professor Shankar Venkatagiri

from IIM Bangalore.

Ms. Khushbu Dave, HOD of MBA has written two papers in December 2016. The

paper written on “Performance Appraisal System in Health Care Sector” is

published in Global Journal for Research Analysis ISSN No. 2277 - 8160 and paper

written on “Performance Appraisal of employees in Indian Railway at Rajkot

District” is published in Paripex – Indian Journal of Research ISSN No. 2250 –

1991.

Mr. Amit Vadera, Assistant Professor at Faculty of MCA has attended 2

days Zonal Orientation Program for the MCA program at Indira Gandhi

National Open University (IGNOU) at Gandhinagar.

Knowledge Class UDAAN @ SUNSHINE

Mr. Satyendra S. Tiwari, senior advocate delivered the session on

“Consumer Protection Act and its implications” on 15th Oct. 2016.

The students of MBA and i-MBA attended the session with great

interest. Active participation and questions asked by students made the

session very interactive. Mr. Satyendra S. Tiwari answered all the

questions of the students by giving practical examples.

Guest Session on “Importance of Relationship Management in Banking

Industry” was organized on 22nd Oct. 2016. This session was taken by Mr.

Amit Sheth, Regional Head Kotak Mahindra Bank (HNI clients) Saurashtra.

Through this session he explained how Relationship Management can help to

increase customer loyalty.

An expert session on “Advance Database Management System” was

arranged for MCA 1st and 3

rd semester students on 24

th November, 2016.

Mr.Hiren Parmar, HOD (BCA) of Vivekananda College has delivered

the session. Sir has explained the database concepts, its applicability,

ACID properties etc. The session was an interactive one with the active

participation of students.

On 24th Nov. 2016, Mr. Nishant Mehta, Vice President of Divya Bhaskar Gujarat and Mr. Ronak Patel,

Deputy General Manager SMD of Divya Bhaskar Gujarat specially visited Sunshine Group of Institutions,

Rajkot with a proposal of Live Project at DB for MBA semester 1 students. They explained the whole

proposal by conducting a special seminar for students. Campus Director Dr. Prof. Vikas Arora and Asst.

Prof. & TPO Mr. Yashpalsinh Zala thanked and felicitated them for their visit.

Mr. Ashwin Gondalia, Project Manager at Accenture Technologies,

delivered session on “Agile Development” on 29th November, 2016. Sir has

put light on topics like Need of traditional model, Details of Scrum, Roles

and responsibilities of Project Manager. The students of MCA 3rd

semester

attended the session to enrich their knowledge on Software Engineering.

Knowledge Class UDAAN @ SUNSHINE

SGI have arranged Parent Teachers Meeting on 19th November, 2016. Parents of all the students from MBA,

MCA and i-MBA are invited to have interaction with faculties for getting information about the progress and

overall development of their wards. The objective of the Parent Teachers meet was to share the existing status

of the students and unfold the hidden talents of the students by discussing with their parents.

An expert talk on “Creating Brand @ MBA” was taken by Ms.

Sharmishtha Singh, HR head at Cooperative Bank of Rajkot on 29th Dec.

2016. Through this talk she addressed MBA semester I students and

explained them the importance of management field for sustainable

development of organization, community and the economy.

conducted a workshop named “Accelerate – The Startup

Talk” at Sunshine Group of Institutions on 28th

Nov. 2016.

Sunshine College organized a workshop on Advanced

Java for MCA 3rd

semester students. Mr. Herminder

Singh, Consultant Advisor, Sunshine college has taken

the session on 18th

December 2016. The session focused

on basics of Advanced Java, all the layouts of Java and

exception handling. The connectivity with database

(SQL) using jdbc is demonstrated. The session was really

helpful for improving the practical hold of students.

Ms. Seema Arora, Consultant Psychologist, Sunshine Group

of Institutions has delivered a session on Mind Power for MCA

1st and 3

rd semester students. Keeping in mind the forthcoming

examinations and stress faced by students, faculty of MCA has

arranged the session. Madam has trained students about how to

eliminate negativity, inculcate positive attitude, how to activate

sub-conscious mind and demonstrated visualization exercise.

The session was really helpful for them to gain mental strength

during the examination stress.

A Pioneer in Management and Technical education,

Sunshine Group of Institutions always play a lead role

in arranging motivational, inspiring, management and

technical sessions. As a part of this a grand

motivational seminar “Management Lessons from

Mahabharat” had been arranged for Academicians

and Industry personnel on 10th

of December, 2016.

The program was totally free of cost and targeted

audience from all the facets like industries as well as

academics. Prof. Dr. Vikas Arora, Director, Sunshine

Group of Institutions, an international motivational

educator and life coach was the key note speaker.

Events UDAAN @ SUNSHINE

SGI organized inter department competition for the

students of i-MBA, MBA and MCA on 8th Oct.

2016. More than 250 students participated in the

events like Management Lessons from Movies, Book

Review, Business Plan, Quiz, Debate, Essay Writing,

Group discussion, Elocution, etc.Experts from

specialized field were invited to judge the various

events. Winners and participants of each event were

awarded with the medals and certificates. Campus

Director Dr. Prof. VikasArora congratulated the

students for their overwhelming participation and

excellent performance.

The Seminar focused on Management aspects that can be implemented in our life from the holy book

Mahabharat. The seminar was blessed with the presence of Mr. Manhar Majithia, General Secretary, KSPC

and Shri Hasubhai Dave, Vice Chairman, Mahatama Gandhi Labour Institute, Gandhinagar and president

of KSPC. Dr. C.K Kumbahrana, HOD, Computer Science Department, Saurashtra University also blessed the

event with his presence. The event received a gigantic success with the presence of more than 120

academicians (from schools and colleges), industrialists and corporate houses. The program received an

overwhelming response from different fields and different corners of Gujarat.

Sunshine Group of Institutions along with the Indian

Red Cross Society organized the Blood Donation

Camp and Thalassaemia Test on 5th

Oct. 2016. More

than forty students and faculties donated the blood and

showed their kindness to help the needy people.

Moreover Thalassaemia Test of more than 300

students was also conducted under the guidance of

Campus Director Dr. Prof. Vikas Arora. Ms. Krutika

Mehta, Faculty of MCA took great efforts to execute

the event smoothly.

Social Activity UDAAN @ SUNSHINE

Students along with the faculty members visited

the Rajkot Nagrik Sahkari Bank on 24th Oct.

2016. The students were familiarized with the

banking industry, banking functions, difference

between commercial and co operative banks etc.

Students also came to know about functioning of

different transactions at RNSB. We heartily

thank Mr. Nilesh Shah, Manager of RNSB for

providing the valued information to our students.

Students of i-MBA semester II along with faculty

members, Ms. Komal Patel and Mr. Hemen Kalaria

visited Mentally Disturb Children Gruh Rajkot

on 29th Dec. 2016. The aim of the visit was to

spread love and make them feel special for what

they are and make them enjoy apart from their

daily routine. Through this visit our students were

able to understand behavior and personality of

mentally disturbed children and to find out how

they act differently from common people and also

to know how they connect people into mainstream.

We wanted them to feel that they are those special

people whom God made to always feel like a little

child loved and pampered. It’s not about disabled

people but it’s about Differently abled people.

Winner of Group Discussion Competition organized by Airport Authority of India (AAI)

On 7th and 9th Nov. 2016 students of i-MBA, MBA and MCA from Sunshine Group of Institutions

participated in the Group Discussion Competition organized by Airport Authority of India (AAI).

Approximately fifteen students form SGI participated in the competition. SGI is proud to publicize that Ms.

Yasmin Shaikh (MBA sem. I) was awarded with the first rank. Ms. Prerna Nathwani (MCA sem. V) got

2nd rank and Ms. Himanee Gondaliya (MBA sem. III) secured 3rd rank in the Group Discussion on
