SOFTWARE PROJECT MANAGEMENT

MAZE ROBOTAnca MIHALACHE

IV th year, CTI

Page 2: Maze robot

GENERAL INFORMATION

The purpose of this project is to create and command a maze robot, that is a robot with a set of movements(Up, Down, Left, and Right) to get it from Start to Finish.

These Start and Finish points belong to a map that can be either a line maze or a labyrinth and the robot has to be able to get from one point to another by following the shortest path.

Furthermore, it must memorise the map.

GENERAL INFORMATION

This is in fact a diploma project and must be presented at the end of this semester, therefore its steps must be strictly respected in order to achieve high performance.

Start Date : 1st of March, 2012 End date : 6th of June, 2012

ENVISIONING PHASE

In this phase, the requirements are established, and the resources Anca and Alexandra, are making Research regarding the work on the project. This research involves watching tutorials, studying already existing algorithms and making comparisons.

DESIGN

There are several points that have to be completed: the design of the labyrinth and of the implementation scheme.

DEVELOPMENT

In this phase, which is in fact, the most important phase, the practical part of the project is made. The robot and the labyrinth are built, the maze algorithm is written and tested.

TESTING AND WRITING DOCUMENTATION

These are the last two steps of the project. Testing and Writing Documentation involve the presence of the coordinator Dan C. who is going to decide whether or not to approve the project.

RISKS

The project accounts its own risks. This planing part is very important because if the

activities do not follow the established course, the project will not be completed and delivered in good time.

That is why measures of precaution have been considered: the project plans are thought so that the process be finished 10 days before the delivery date.

CONCLUSIONS

Building a maze robot requires attention, seriousity and good planning.

Take your time and work carefully and the result will pe successful!
