COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVESUpon completion of this course, participants should be able to:• Recognize the standard of care for the diagnosis and treatment of:
• Recognize significant molecular markers in acute and chronic leukemias and how to incorporate them into clinical practice.
• Review new treatment standards and recent changes to clinical practice for acute and chronic leukemias.
• Increase awareness of investigational agents and potential changes in the care of acute and chronic leukemia patients.
• Explain the importance of using asparaginase in the treatment of young adults diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
• Prescribe that Leukemia and Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia patients should be HLA-typed early in their diagnosis to facilitate allogeneic stem cell transplant.
