Round Table Discussion
The Prince Albert & District Chamber of Commerce had the distinct pleasure of hosting Ms. Elyse Allan at our recent luncheon event on May 1/12. Ms. Allan is the President and CEO of General Electric Canada, as well as Past Chair with the Canadian Chamber of Commerce.
Ms Allan joined a group comprised of Business leaders and Civic leaders and administration in some round table discussions. These discussions were inspired by three documents; two of which were the result of work completed by General Electric Canada; “Towards a Remote Communities Investment Strategy for Canada” & Remote, Resource Rich and Ready”, and the third was resulted from the work of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce. “The Business Case for Investing in Canada’s Remote Communities "

Many insights and success stories were shared, with hopes that further work and meetings will provide a outline or summary of what the Prince Albert & District needs to articulate as needs as well as opportunities. Part of the vision Ms Allen shared with us was to work at realizing opportunities in partnership and collaboration to build infrastructure and educational opportunities. As Ms Allen stated” The outlook is bright, providing the right investment at the right time”.
Event Sponsor: Northern Lights Casino
It was a privilege to have Richard Ahenakew, General Manager for the
Northern Lights Casino, present the Star Blanket to Ms. Elyse Allan, as a
way to honor all her accomplishments, as well as a memento of her visit to
Prince Albert.
Business Profile Testimonials
Dear Ms Goertzen:
Marg and I and our farm have been clients since 1985 for general insurance and financial advice.
We have had two claims, a windshield chip repair and a major claim for damage from the August 2008 tornado. We believe this claim was handled fairly and with respect. A nice touch was when the adjusters finished the major damage assessment they looked around the yard and included some broken flower pots.
For more than 25 years we have enjoyed professional and friendly service from your Agency.
Sincerely yours,
John Dinius

You’ve got a lot in your life that’s worth protecting. As a Canadian owned company we have been helping Canadians with their insurance needs for decades. We take pride in the service we provide our clients. Two of our clients offered to share their experience with our office and we would like to share these testimonials with you.
Dear Jacquie:
A few years ago, my husband and I were looking into purchasing life insurance. We called the Co-operators in Prince Albert, and subsequently set up an appointment to meet with Jacquie Goertzen. As soon as we were welcomed into Jacquie’s office, we were immediately put at ease by her genuine warmth and easy going manner. There was no high pressure sales talk, no big push to sign on the dotted line. Jacquie listened to what we wanted and on our next visit presented us with a comprehensive package that contained clear, concise illustrations for us to review. Jacquie then went over each of the options with us and helped us formulate a policy that was tailored to our needs. The information provided to us was so thorough that it even included a package that would cover our home insurance, saving us hundreds of dollars annually. When we did sign on the dotted line, we felt well informed and confident we were doing the right thing. Unfortunately, this was put to the test sooner than any of us anticipated, as my husband became terminally ill and passed away a year ago. Jacquie was there for me throughout the whole ordeal, offering sincere condolences and her support, even taking the time to travel to his memorial service. She did not push, nor intrude, just offered her assistance and answered questions where needed. It is this display of caring that means so much at such a terrible time.
Dealing with the Co-operators and Jacquie Goertzen has never been an ordeal or overwhelming. I find all the staff to be friendly and helpful and the office has a welcoming feel as soon as you walk in the door. I live in Air Ronge, and Jacquie has gone out of her way to accommodate me in coordinating visits to her office when I was in Prince Albert, even meeting after hours if that was the only time we could fit in an appointment.
I am truly thankful that we made the decision to sign on with the Co-operators and look forward to a long association with them.
Thank you Jacquie and staff,
Deb Thome
