1. School of Evangelism TOMORROW at 805 Shelborne, London. Classes begin at 9:30 am and will continue to 4:30. Lunch break from 12:30 to 1:30 pm. Class will be taught on Adventist Doctrines, Part 1 will cover doctrines 1-14.

2. The next general church potluck will be held on Sabbath May 12th.

Please bring an item from the section of the first letter of your last

name. Feel free to bring additional items from any category, and

since we will be having a guest speaker and lots of guests, please

bring a lot of extras for our visitors.

A-C Salad/Raw vegetables, D-F Dessert/Fruit, G-I Drink/Juice, J-M Stew, N-R Sandwich, S-Z Soup.

Please note: If you are bringing a tossed salad, Dessert/ Fruit, the kitchen staff would appreciate if you could bring it already prepared and cut up (since our crew often does not have enough time to do this during the service). Please bring a dressing for the salad if it is normally served that way.

Please note: that we have the cafeteria but do not have use of the school’s kitchen for this and the other potlucks in May. All of the hot food dishes will have to be in slow cookers, electric roasters and on hot plates. All of the cold food dishes and drinks will need to be kept in camping type coolers. If you need any of this equipment supplied please talk to Don Topper.

3. Fundraising Event for the Church School. Mothers Day High Tea May 13th 2:30-4:30 pm @ North S.D.A. Church $5.00 per person

4. Elders meeting will take place Monday, May 14 at 5:30 pm at the church.

5. Church Board meeting will take place Monday, May 14 at 6:30 pm at the fellowship hall. Please provide your agenda items to pastor Alex Golovenko. Planning for summer activities, church growth & May evangelistic outreach will be on the agenda.

6. May 19 we will have a special emphasis on the Sabbath School in our church. The Sabbath School will begin at 9:30 am and the program will continue until 12:30 pm. There will be no preaching session. Ample opportunity would be given to all ages to participate and share in the Sabbath Bible Study experience.

7. Canadian Union of Seventh-day Adventist Churches President Mark Johnson will be visiting London May 26, speaking at 11 am for worship hour and having a dialogue on church outreach at 2:30 pm. Meetings will take place at Laurier Secondary School located 450 Millbank Dr.

8. Register for Men’s Spiritual retreat with Chuck Burkeen, coming June 1-3 at Maple Grove Methodist Camp, 194936 19th Line, Thamesford, ON. The cost is $70 for adult and ½ price for youth under 21. Conference Men Ministries Director Glen DeSilva will be visiting the gathering on Sabbath. For more details see flyers and posters. Contact Gord Rayner for registering to attend.

9. The Social Life Committee is organizing first camping experience this summer on June 8-10 at Fanshawe. Our Church facilities will be closed as the Sabbath School & worship will take place at the camp-site.

10. June 8-9, Southern Regional campmeeting will be held in Simcoe at Norfolk County Fairgrounds, 172 South Drive, Simcoe. Guest speakers this year are Dr. Gaspar Colon and Dr. Hiskia Missah.

11. Join us on our summer bus trio to lakeside mall Utica Michigan, U.S.A. cost is $40 we ask that you give a $20 deposit beforehand. Deposits will not be refunded. 13. Inviting ALL to our mid-week church service on Wednesday nights at 7 pm. Even during the renovation stage – we will be meeting for prayer! It is time for extra prayer, deeper Bible study, and opportunities for members to develop their preaching gifts.

Pray for Mexico, Mauritania, Monaco,

Mongolia, Montenegro, Montserrat We have been praying for Mexico since beginning of this month and will

continue tomorrow. Today people of Mexico celebrate Sinco de Mayo, a commemoration of May 5, 1862 when the Mexican army was victorious over French forces at the Battle of Puebla. Currently the drug war escalated and Mexico is listed as one of 59 countries in the world where military conflict is on today. Pray that there will be victories in the Spiritual war against powers and principalities of darkness, that the church and individual Christians will be victorious for the Kingdom of God. Pray for church leadership to nurture people for peace and serving others.

Monday we lift in prayers Mauritania, predominantly Muslim country where Christians are persecuted, and slavery still exists. There is also a racial divide between white Moors who ruled southern Spain in Middle Ages, and black African tribes. Less than 0.3% are Christians. Pray for Gospel to enter this land.

Tuesday we lift in prayers Monaco. 2nd smallest state (after Vatican) with 99% Catholic adherence. Located on French Riviera it’s less than 2 sq km large with 32,000 population, and has highest in the world GDP per capita – $187,000 per person! No unemployment as 48,000 workers commute from France & Italy to this state. Most densely populated (2nd after Chinese Macau) Most expensive real-estate in the world. It’s source of wealth is gambling entertainment for world wealthy elite. Pray for materialistically busy people to seek God.

Wednesday we lift in prayers Mongolia. Least densely populated (after Greenland ) this land is new to Christian influence. Christian church is only one generation old and already grown to 3% of population. One third are Buddhist, but majority are animists, following shamans, spirit worship and ancestral superstitions. 86% are not reached at all with even knowledge of the Gospel. Adventists have grown to 1700 and have 4 churches there. Pray for spiritual formation of young leadership.

Thursday we lift in prayer Montenegro, a new country which emerged from the break-up of Yugoslavia in 2006. Evangelical community is growing rapidly in this predominantly Eastern Orthodox land. As the country surfaces from troubled socialist past, the organized crime and corruption are main concerns. Pray for openness to Christianity in spite of economic troubles. Pray for churches commitment to justice and waling in truth.

Friday we will pray for the Caribbean island Montserrat, nearly destroyed by a volcanic eruption. In 1995 the historic capital city of Plymouth was destroyed and two-thirds of the island's population fled when Soufriere Hills volcano became active. In 2010, February, continued eruption buried the remnants of W. H. Bramble Airport. Adventists that remain constitute 12% of population. There is an awakening in churches from the nominal Christianity of the past. Pray for revival to continue among those who are committed to stay on the island and work on its rebuilding.
