ESSENTIAL METHODIST DOCTRINES
Q. How is the Holy Spirit presently at work? A. Through our hymnody, we express the meaning of the Christian life under the heading of the Holy Spirit, affirming this present activity of the Holy Spirit. Q. Is salvation exclusively the work of the Holy Spirit? A. Salvation is the work of all of the Persons of the Trinity. Q. What special emphasis have Methodists expressed in their worship of the Trinity? A. Methodists have historically emphasized the intensely personal nature of God. Q. Are God’s love and power contradictory? A. Our emphasis on the love and compassion that God has for all does not contradict our belief in God’s power. Q. How does our worship express our belief in this Trinitarian God? A. Our teaching about God grows out of our worship where we name the true subject of our adoration: “Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.”
A “Catechism” for United Methodists based on Ted A. Campbell’s Methodist Doctrine: The Essentials – revised edition

Health Notes by Debra Miles, RN, FCN
For Important Health Benefits
Adults need at least:
2 hours and 30 minutes (150 minutes) of moderate intensity aerobic activity (i.e.,
brisk walking) every week and
muscle-strengthening activities on 2 or more days a week that work all major
muscle groups (legs, hips, back, abdomen, chest, shoulders, and arms).
1 hour and 15 minutes (75 minutes) of vigorous-intensity aerobic activity (i.e., jogging
or running) every week and
muscle-strengthening activities on 2 or more days a week that work all major muscle
groups (legs, hips, back, abdomen, chest, shoulders, and arms).
An equivalent mix of moderate and vigorous-intensity aerobic activity and
muscle-strengthening activities on 2 or more days a week that work all major
muscle groups (legs, hips, back, abdomen, chest, shoulders, and arms).
How much physical activity do adults need?
Physical activity is anything that gets your body moving. According to the 2008 Physical Activity Guide-
lines for Americans, you need to do two types of physical activity each week to improve your health-
aerobic and muscle-strengthening.

At the11:00 worship service, the Children's Choir will present "Are We There Yet," a delightful musical by Allen Pote and
Tom Long, retelling the Exodus story of Moses, Aaron and the people of Israel. This work is full of meaningful content and
also contains lighthearted entertainment. Like so many accounts in the Bible, at the heart of a great spiritual event, we find
some people a lot like ourselves.
