ASC THEATRE CAMP Hello! I'm an alumna of Henrico County Schools currently working at the American Shakespeare Center in Staunton, and I just wanted to take a moment to make sure that you and your students know about the ASC Theatre Camp for students ages 13-18. We are still accepting applications, and I can't stress enough what an incredible opportunity this is for a student with a love for Shakespeare -- they'll spend three weeks in a college prep environment, culminating in a performance on-stage at the internationally renowned Blackfriars Playhouse, the world's only re-creation of Shakespeare's original indoor playhouse. The program is also a college prep intensive, giving students the critical and creative thinking skills essential to success, as well as introducing them to dorm life and other skills necessary to taking those first steps into the adult world. Right now, we're running a sweepstakes, where one lucky student will receive a full scholarship to camp. You can find that contest here; it ends June 1st. And as a bonus incentive for you, if one of your students registers, you'll get a special discount on your next ASC Education event! I've attached a flyer and an information packet, which I hope you'll distribute to any teachers and students you think might be interested. I look forward to welcoming some Henrico students to the Blackfriars Playhouse this summer. Please let me know if you have any questions!
