To beat the heat Vidyagram reopened its renovated indoor Swimming Pool on 1st
May. Hon’ble Director, Dr. S. K. Sinha declared the swimming pool open. The
students and staff were very excited to take the first dip.
Budding Artists
The Department of Fine Arts organized a Slogan Poster Making Competition for
junior section (classes IV to VIII) on 1st May. It was a treat to see the budding
artists paint poster on ‘Shramdaan Divas’ with meaningful slogans. Each poster
was a gem in itself. Kudos to little Artists!!
Shruti House presented ‘Mann Ki Baat’ a video recording of Hon’ble Prime
Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s address to the nation. The recorded telecast was
shown in Swami Vivekananda Auditorium. The video was an inspiration for the
entire school and each of us promised to give our best.
In Swami Vivekananda Auditorium, Vidyagram witnessed the live launch of
GSAT- 9 Satellite from Shriharikota, Andhra Pradesh, which was a priceless gift
by our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. It was a moment of pride and
patriotism for each one of us. Long live India!!

The Department of Hindi/Sanskrit
organized a rib tickling competition in
Swami Vivekananda Auditorium. Many
budding poets recited amusing poems
which left the audience spellbound. Each
poem was a comical satire on the society
and provoked us to rethink our mantle.
The Department of Music (Performing
Arts) organized an Inter-House Solo
Singing Competition for the junior
section (classes IV to VIII) in Swami
Vivekananda Auditorium. All the
participants truly lived the quote:
“Music gives the soul to the Universe,
wings to the mind, flight to the
imagination and life to everything.” The
audience was mesmerized with the
prospective singers of the nation.
The Department of Sports organized 9H
Rifle Shooting Competition for junior and
senior section. Many students participated
enthusiastically. It was a pleasure to watch
the students aim for the bull’s eye.

A talk and PowerPoint Presentation was shown on Red Cross Day to the
students in the School Morning Assembly in Swami Vivekananda Auditorium.. It
was very informative.
Principal felicitating Mr. Vinay Patrale
An enriching workshop was conducted by Mr. Vinay Patrale from ‘Ignited Minds’
on 10th May in AV Room. Mr. Vinay Patrale is an eminent author, trainer, speaker
and a motivator. He was given a hearty welcome by the Principal Mrs. Nishi
Rana. The workshop was conducted in two sessions. The first session was for
the youth of our nation – students. He spoke on the importance of being a good
human and a patriot.
The second session was conducted for the nation builders – teachers, who play
a crucial role in building the nation. He encouraged the staff to work with utmost
dedication and integrity.
The workshop concluded with a speech by Hon’ble Director, Dr. S. K. Sinha, who
also presented a token of gratitude on behalf of the school.
Class XII Commerce students presented a PPT on ‘CASO’ and also delivered a
talk in the School Morning Assembly. The students sensitized the assembly on
why army has reintroduced Cordon and Search Operation as a permanent
feature of its campaign against militants. The speech delivered by the Commerce

students was an eye opener for the most of the audience. It was well received by
everyone.
A nail biting and thrilling cricket match was played in Sports Complex on 14 May
between staff and students. The students won the match by 8 wickets.
Everybody enjoyed and cheered both the teams. The Principal congratulated
both the teams.
The Department of Fine Arts organized Inter-House Card Making Competition for
junior classes (V to VIII) on May 15, Mothers’ Day. Students participated in large
number with lot of enthusiasm and interest. The budding students made beautiful
and attractive greeting cards.
The Department of Sports organized Tug-of-War, Staff Vs Students on May 19,
in Basketball court. The nature (rain) could not deter the spirits of students and
staff. After the test of endurance and strength to surprise of all, the staff won. The
Principal congratulated both the teams.
Periodic Test for junior classes was conducted from 4th to 19th May and seniors
from 19th to 25th May.
Extra Coaching Classes were organized for classes X & XII from 26th to 31st May,
2017.
Summer Vacations for classes IV to IX & XI commenced from 21st May and for
classes X & XII from 31st May. The school will reopen for students on 06th July,
2017.

Keeping in mind that English speaking is the need of the hour, a workshop for two
hours was conducted by English faculty on May 27, 2017 in AV Room for the staff
on the topic “How to encourage, motivate and develop communicative skill in
English amongst the students?” Through PPT and activities each Resource Teacher
laid emphasis on reading, listening, watching English movies. The Principal also
requested the staff to be the role model by communicating amongst themselves in
English.
Shri Anil Chaudhary, the Trustee of BRCM Education Society, visited Vidyagram
Campus from May 27 to 28, 2017.
The result for AISSCE 2016-17 was declared on May 28, 2017. Following students

A new Maths Lab was set up for students to improve their Mathematics Skills.
Parents-Teacher Meeting was held on May 30, 2017. It was well attended by the
parents who were curious and concerned of the welfare and academics progress
of their children. The Parents interacted with the Subject teachers and House
Master of their respective wards to know about their progress and achievements.
The Parents also appreciated the new added infrastructure, discipline and
working of the school. The Parents appreciated new Maths Lab.
Summer Vacations for staff commences on 01st June, 2017. The staff will report
on duty on 28th June, 2017.
