nr21* designed Sennheiser’s new DJ product range consisting of three headphones.

The HD8 DJ and HD7 DJ are focused on the rhythm and beat matching that professional DJs need. The HD8 DJ offers a clear and more detailed sound experience with excellent bass while the HD7 DJ has a more dynamic sound tuning with a stronger bass emphasis. Both headphones are capable of very loud, high SPL making them suitable for DJ performance environments. Both DJ models feature swivelling ear cups with up to 210° of movement and three different wearing positions to suit your individual preference.

The HD6 MIX gives you an accurate and balanced sound needed for your mixing and monitoring work. It is constructed of rugged but lightweight parts – built to withstand years of work in the studio.

This is a design of the new bombardier flexity tram series from bureau+staubach. It‘s a completely new engineered modular tram system. I did some detailing of the design, the whole modeling with Alias StudioTools and the visualisation i.e. the renderings & animations with Maya.

During my half-year-internship at AUDI Design, i worked on a showcar interior project that will stay confidential - and a personel project, wich i could choose. I decided to make a lawnmower for the soccer field of the Munich Allianz Arena and Jens Sieber did the supervision. The idea was, to motivate a boring work with an exciting tool. The driver should sit on the lawnmover like he does on a Harley Davidson. For better overview, he sits directly upfront. Knives for the machine can be changed and everything... you can see the result! The Audi guys liked that project very much, but I think they won‘t produce it anyway.

Der txtr beagle wurde konzipiert und designt, wofür eReader in erster Linie genutzt werden: das Lesen von digitalen Büchern. Daher auch die geschützte Produkt-Bezeichnung read | only™ . Mit einem Volumen von nur 100 Kubikzentimetern ist der txtr beagle der kleinste eReader der Welt. Er wiegt gerade einmal 128 Gramm. Das macht ihn in der 5- und 6- Zoll-Geräteklasse zum weltweit leichtesten eReader. Er passt bequem in jede Hemd- oder Handtasche. Im Gegensatz zu allen anderen Lesegeräten braucht er weder ein Ladegerät oder ein Kabel, noch benötigt er irgendeine Art von Installation. Das Fach für die Batterien gibt dem Gerät einen eleganten Schwung und sorgt zugleich für eine stabile und ergonomische Haltung in der Hand.

The idea behind Changers is to motivate millions of people across the world to start producing their own energy. In doing so, they fight against climate change - and maybe make the world a better place to live. In order to do this, we developed a simple and effective Hardware. The lightweight solar module converts sunlight into energy, and stores it in the portable charger, giving the user a mobile energy source that allows them to charge their mobile devices. The hardware design has a distinc-tive and instantly recognizable profile. The device operation is intuitive and condenses a large number of features into an easy to understand interface.

Wood is a well known, very popular and beloved material. Especially boat owners like it, but, because of the big effort in its workmanship, particularly in traditional boat building, wooden boats are very expensive, compared to boats made of glass fibre reinforced plastics. Also, the keeping and maintenance is very expensive. But wooden boats have their own charme and the material wood has many advantages, in special regarding to sustainability. Modern techniques and manufacturing processes can help, to make wood more attractive in boat building again.

Both boats are build up in a modular concept and the manufacturing is based on the same base frame. some surface parts are identical as well, to reduce the needed amount of manufacturing tools. The manufacturer has the posibility to produce various models and designs and nevertheless keep the production costs low. He can serve a bigger market. Further boat constructions, all based on this frame, are possible.

Bumblebee is a rescue helicopter and I did this project 2006 at weißensee. It is a very small helicopter to make it able to navigate and land in urban areas. The idea was to have much space in the inside of the helicopter even though it is very small. The doctor can‘t stand upright in traditionel machines, so how can he care about the patient during the flight? The idea was to make charging easier for the doc and the pilot and to allow the doctor being able to stand near the patient during the flight. I worked together with an engineer from EUROCOPTER and a rescue helicopter pilot from the ADAC. You may have already wondered - the asymmetrical construction of the helicopter can stabilize the flight position in circumstances. The machine has no tail rotor. The system is called NOTAR (NO TAil Rotor) and is already in use on american BELL machines for example. It works with a tail exhaust of the main engine, wich produces a jet to avoid spinning. Ok, the jet must be very strong, bacause the tail is that short, but it looked better :)

Der Skytron PV-Guard Design Guide ist ein Leitfaden zur Erstellung eines grafischen Interface zur Überwachung und Fernadministration von Photovoltaikanlagen- und Kraftwerken. Er enthält Vorgaben zur Struktur, Interaktion und zur grafischen Umsetzung, die bei der Programmierung des Portals verbindlich sind.

Der Guide beinhaltet Beschreibungen und Beispieldarstellungen aller Portalelemente sowie Beispielansichten des Portals in verschiedenen Zuständen. Das Portal entstand in Zusammenarbeit zwischen der Skytron Energy GmbH und der nr21 DESIGN GmbH.

The movie took us over 1 and a half years for production. It had about 30000 downloads, 4 days after being published in the internet. We won the 3rd price on Hamburg Animation Award and it was shown at several film festivals. You can see the movie on www.maxkoriath.com and have a look at some sketches of the character design, the storyboard and some renderings from the production process.

ROUGHAPPROACHA short movie I made with Jens Ole Bukowsky and Tim Reischman at the GERMAN FILM SCHOOL, a private school for animation and digital effects. I won the ETNA Award and so I was able to study there one semester for free.
