Matthew Rolston Matthew Rolston is known for his signature lighting techniques and his detailed approach to art design and direction. He has been identified through his career with the revival and modem expression of Hollywood glamour. He was discovered by Andy Warhol through Warhol’s celebrity focused magazine Interview which is where is photography career began. He began shooting covers and editorials for Jann Wenner the founding editor of the magazine Rolling Stone. His work then progressed to going covers and shoots for magazines such as Bazaar, Vogue, Vanity Fair, Esquire and Cosmopolitan and also the New York Times. As well as photography he’s began writing and directing music videos, TV commercials for adverts and stars such as Madonna, Beyoncé, Elizabeth Arden, L’Oreal and Polo Ralph Lauren. His ‘sharp eye’ and ‘candid “America’s Next Top Model” is when I was introduced to Matthew Rolston’s work. It was then when I saw what he was famous for, the shoot he did was different, inspirational and original. I saw his work was very inspiring and began research on him which is when I saw how many shoots he’s done editorial, magazine covers and many more.
