Dear Sandbox, My name is Matthew Leonard and before I reveal my Sandbox WOW project I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a little about myself. I was born in Downpatrick, County Down in January 1994 and raised nearby in the small coastal town of Strangford in the North East of Ireland. Currently I am a Master of Arts (Honours) Candidate in International Relations at the University of St Andrews in Scotland. Whilst at St Andrews I have founded Gradberry Venture Capital, a Scottish based student partnership that invests in the most talented, driven and innovative student startups. Our team and copious networks endeavor to identify the strongest and most pioneering projects within the United Kingdom’s student community. At GradBerry, we maintain a focus on social entrepreneurship and offer both mentoring and capital solutions to the best UK based student start-‐ups. We aim to educate and invest for the betterment of UK society. To this end I have created a recipe for smoothies and designed a make your own kit (which I have sent to Sandbox HQ) which I believe reflects my own personal beliefs as well as the ethos of both SandBox and GradBerry. Gradberry Smoothies for SANDBOX Like my social venture and Sandbox, Gradberry Smoothies bring positive things together to produce something great. Containing my own home grown, hand-‐picked strawberries and raspberries as well as Greek Yogurt, Almonds, Milk and Maple Syrup this unique recipe serves as the perfect metaphor for Sandbox and my own personal endeavours.
Recipe
-‐ 150g of strawberries -‐ 150g of raspberries -‐ 150ml of milk -‐ 300g of geek yoghurt -‐ 60ml of maple syrup -‐ 20g of almonds
Place into a blender and blitz until smooth.
*Please Note: The above recipe includes almond nuts and dairy products and is therefore unsuitable for people with nut or dairy allergies or intolerances.
