MATT WINTER, A.K.A. Mr. Winter, is an LA born interior designer and decorator who uses found and me:culously collected objects, furniture and fabric to decorate bars, restaurants, retail stores and private homes of celebri:es. Working with his wife Tara, older brother Daniel, and assistant Nikko, he creates authen:c feeling atmospheres and lifestyle des:na:ons with period correct pieces from the turn of the century through the WWII era. His aesthe:c is unique and his keen eye highly praised by collectors, designers, and vintage enthusiasts alike. MaG is a strong willed personality who plays by his own rules and peruses every task with vigorous passion. “I was born in Los Angeles, California in 1984 on October the 5th. I entered this world in an authen@c way–the first kid to be born in Beverly Hills at home in 40 years. My path was set since day one. I went to Beverly high were my love for vintage cars and motorcycles took off with the help of some older mentors. I was the first kid in over 30 years to build and drive a homemade 1930's hot rod every day to school amongst the sea of BMWs and Mercedes. My mother and father, both being extremely crea@ve and self taught, fully supported me when I decided to venture into the building world instead of college. Star@ng a clothing company first with my older brother, Daniel, allowed me to get a real sense of the world, designing concep@on and branding. I have always wanted whatever I built or designed to be as authen@c as possible, making you feel like you were there. U@lizing color, fabrics, and reclaimed materials to give the sort of nostalgic feel of the real thing. Currently I am making a living as an interior designer and decorator and have recently completed one of the biggest jobs of my career: The Real McCoy store in Tokyo, Japan. In January of 2013, I wrapped up the ambi@ous and unique 41 Ocean club in Santa Monica. I am married to my best friend and high school sweetheart, Tara. Without her I'm pre\y sure I would be in jail or dead by now. I am Ma\ Winter” !
