2ND SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
In both our first reading and the Gospel, we hear how God calls
people to serve.
The youth Samuel hears God’s voice, though he does not recognize it at first. But God keeps calling and with Eli’s help, Samuel is finally able to hear God’s Word. The disciples of John the Baptist follow Jesus at his invitation, and bring along Simon Peter. We often come to serve the Lord through the invitation of others. We can offer that same invitation to those who have not yet heard the Gospel message.

Observance of the 48th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade
This Supreme Court decision made abortion legal throughout the United States. Since that date over 60 million
lives have been lost to abortion.
All our faithful are encouraged to pray to end abortion. Here are some suggestions on what you can do: Attend Mass, Pray the Rosary, Abstain or Fast for the Day, Perform Acts of Kindness.
“End Legalized Abortion” in America!”
PRAY THE MEMORARE TO
END LEGALIZED ABORTION
Remember, O most compassionate Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your assistance or sought your intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, we fly unto you, O Virgin of Virgins, our Mother; to you we come; before you we kneel, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not our peti-tions, but in your clemency hear and an-swer them. Amen.
