Crucible Tongs
• These tongs are used to pick up and hold a very hot crucible to prevent from burning yourself.
Double burette clamp
• This clamp is to hold two burettes at the same time. The clamp is attached to a ring stand.
Pipe-stem Triangle
• A frame that can support a container. Can be placed on an iron ring to provide a stage for a crucible.
Crucible and cover
• A cup-shaped lab material used to contain chemicals when heating them to very high temperatures. It also keeps oxygen out of the reaction.
Bunsen burner
• Used to heat materials in a lab. It also has a rubber hose that connects to the gas jet.
Ring Stand
• A support for other materials in a lab.
Wash bottle
• Used to rinse glassware in the lab
Wire Gauze
• Can support a container when heating while the Bunsen burner is beneath it. Also it helps spread the flame/heat around the container.
Test tube brush
• Used to clean a test tube.
Iron Ring
• Attached to the ring stand. It can be used to support a beaker.
Buret
• Vertical cylindrical piece. It is used to dispense known amounts of a liquid in experiments. It gives you a precise amount for experiments.
Stirring rod
• Used to stir liquids and combinations of chemicals.
Funnel
• To remove un-dissolved solids from a liquid mixture. It also can be used to help pour a liquid into a container that has a small opening. It can be placed in an iron ring.
Evaporating dish
• Container used for liquids. Usually when you want to evaporate a liquid from a chemical.
Flint Striker
• Used to create a flame on a Bunsen burner.
Watch glass
• Used to evaporate off the liquid part of a solution. Can also be used as a beaker cover.
Goggles
• Used to protect your eyes from broken glass, flames, and chemicals.
Test tube rack
• Supports and holds many test tubes.
Beaker
• It is usually used as a container for mixing or holding chemicals.
Erlenmeyer flask
• Gives approximate measurements of volume. It is usually used as a mixing vessel or a container for heating. Can hold liquids.
Florence Flask
• Used to hold a liquid during heating. Can hold solutions of chemicals.
Graduated Cylinder
• Used to measure the volume of liquids.
Test tube
• A container to hold chemicals during heating.
Test tube holder
• Holds a test tube during heating or after being heated to prevent from being burned.
