    Tounderstandthespatialdistributionoftheelectricfieldforavarietyofsimplechargeconfigurations.

    Forthisproblem,usethePhETsimulationChargesandFields.Thissimulationallowsyoutoplacemultiplepositiveandnegativepointchargesinanyconfigurationandlookattheresultingelectricfield.

    Startthesimulation.Youcanclickanddragpositivecharges(red)ornegativecharges(blue)intothemainscreen.IfyouselectShowEfieldinthegreenmenu,redarrowswillappear,showingthedirectionoftheelectricfield.Faintredarrowsindicatethattheelectricfieldisweakerthanatlocationswherethearrowsarebrighter(thissimulationdoesnotusearrowlengthasameasureoffieldmagnitude).Feelfreetoplayaroundwiththesimulation.Whenyouaredone,clickClearAllbeforebeginningPartA.
