The public health system in India can be strengthened through the presence of well-trained and competent public health professionals. Qualified public health professionals are a necessity to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. Such an inter-disciplinary public health workforce can also advance the vision of Universal Health Care. The aim of our MPH program is to make public health educa�on and research ac�vi�es relevant to India in content and context, while a�aining standards which are qualita�vely comparable with the best in the world. The Indian Ins�tute of Public Health - Delhi (IIPH-Delhi) is pleased to announce its call for applica�ons, for the second batch of Master of Public Health being offered in the academic year July 2017 - June 2019, affiliated to Sree Chitra Tirunal Ins�tute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST) Trivandrum, an Ins�tute of Na�onal Importance under Govt. of India.

1. Prepare students in program organiza�on and management, problem solving, and cri�cal thinking in the public health domain.

2. Prepare students to undertake public health research in ins�tu�onal and field se�ngs.3. Prepare students to work in socially, culturally and economically diverse popula�ons by being a�en�ve to needs of

vulnerable and disadvantaged groups and well versed with exis�ng health systems.4. Promote quali�es of leadership and effec�ve use of communica�on skills for health advocacy among students.5. Prepare students for teaching /training posts in public health ins�tu�ons.

PROGRAM DURATION

The program is divided in four semesters over a period of two years. Students must complete 60 credits to graduate.

Medical graduates (MBBS), dental graduates (BDS), graduates of ayurvedic medicine, homeopathy and siddha, and graduates of four-year degree programs in veterinary/nursing sciences, Bachelor of Physiotherapy, Bachelor of Occupa�onal Therapy, Bachelor of Pharmacy, Engineering graduates, or students with a postgraduate degree in Sta�s�cs/Biosta�s�cs, Demography, Popula�on Studies, Nutri�on, Sociology, Economics, Psychology, Anthropology, Social Work, Management or Law. Work experience in a health-related field is desirable.

Ÿ For Indian and South Asian Na�onals: The annual tui�on fee for the students admi�ed in academic year 2017-18 is INR 1.80 Lakhs per student per academic year. (The total fee for the two year program is Rs. 3,60,000/- which includes Rs. 10,000/- admission fees and Rs. 10,000/- examina�on fees)

Ÿ For Interna�onal Candidates: The annual tui�on fee for the students admi�ed in academic year 2017-18 is 5,500 USD per student per academic year.

*This does not include hostel fee, cost of books, sta�onery, cer�ficates, food, field trips, disserta�on, convoca�on etc.

Applica�ons would be screened based on eligibility criteria. Eligible applicants would then go through a selec�on process, which includes a wri�en test and an interview.

The degree will be awarded to successful graduates by Sree Chitra Tirunal Ins�tute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST), Trivandrum (An Ins�tute of Na�onal Importance under Govt. of India).

PHFI is a public-private ini�a�ve that collabora�vely evolved through consulta�ons with mul�ple cons�tuencies, including Indian and interna�onal academia, state and central governments, mul�- and bi-lateral agencies, and civil society groups. PHFI aims to address the limited ins�tu�onal capacity in India for training, research, and policy development in the area of public health through establishment of Indian Ins�tutes of Public Health across the country. Structured as an independent founda�on, PHFI adopts a broad, integra�ve approach to public health, tailoring its endeavours to Indian condi�ons and bearing relevance to countries facing similar challenges and concerns.

*2-3 tracks will be offered based on the interest of students. The decision of which track is to be offered in a par�cular academic year will be the preroga�ve of IIPH-Delhi.

Reserva�on of seats in admissions will be as per Government of India policy as applicable from �me to �me. If suitable candidates are not available under the reserved category, the seats will be filled by general category candidates.
