The Master of Applied Finance is a practicalcourse designed for graduates seeking acareer in finance. The curriculum is designedto complement the Chartered FinancialAnalyst (CFA) program. Candidates preparingfor the CFA qualification are encouraged toenrol in the Master of Applied Finance as apreparatory course.
Admission requirementsRequirements There are three entry pathways.
Pathway One A bachelor’s degree, or an equivalentqualification, as recognised by UWA, and oneof the following: (a) the equivalent of a UWA weighted averagemark of at least 60 per cent; or (b) a valid Graduate Management Admission
Test (GMAT)1 with a score of at least 550; or (c) at least five years of relevant documentedprofessional experience considered by UWA to

Pathway Three A graduate certificate or equivalent from anequivalent and accredited course fromanother institution, with a weighted averagemark of at least 70 per cent.

Course structureConversion units Students who have not completed a Bachelorof Commerce or equivalent must completerelevant conversion units up to the value of 24points from this group, as advised by theFaculty. Graduate Certificate in Financegraduates who have not completed a Bachelorof Commerce but have completed ACCT5432Introductory Financial Accounting (orequivalent) will be required to complete three(3) conversion units, as advised by the Faculty.
